Jiang Xiaobai began to feel sick as she thought about this. In her head, she was trying to figure out how to take care of what happened last night, as both of them had already promised to tell her mother the truth once they got back. Who knew that this would happen? Was this what it meant that plans always fell behind changes?
Jiang Xiaobai angrily asked herself, Now that we’ve slept together, is he going to be responsible? But is getting him to be responsible under such circumstances what I wanted? Obviously, not. Jiang Xiaobai blinked. However, she was a modern woman and would not feel that she was being taken advantage of. After all, all she did was sleep with a man. Besides, this man was good-looking and had a good physique. She really wasn’t at a loss.
At this point, Jiang Xiaobai felt more balanced and decided to stay calm and pretend that nothing had happened after Xiao Su became awake. But if I act that way, is he going to take responsibility? Or should I just leave quietly now?
In a split second after this thought came up, she gradually crawled out of bed after giving his gorgeous face a second glance.
She was embarrassed by her clothes that were scattered all around the floor of the hotel room. So, she quickly picked them up one after another and simply pushed her disheveled hair to the back of her head, pretending to look calm and indifferent. Later, she tiptoed into the bathroom.
By the time she came out of the bathroom, she was done putting on her clothes. Noticing that Xiao Su was still asleep, she immediately went to grab her handbag and phone before heading out of the room. Fortunately, no one had seen her leave the room, and she also did not tell anyone that she was leaving. This incident had happened so unexpectedly that it would be too awkward for her to politely tell Xiao Su’s mother about it. In the end, she called a cab and left.
It was two hours later when Liang Yahe came knocking on his door to check on them that Xiao Su finally woke up. In the beginning, he was still feeling muddled when he first heard the knock. He then subconsciously got out of bed to get the door. The moment he lifted the blanket, a realization that he was naked hit him. He remained silent for a moment before hiding himself under the blanket again. Moreover, the spot next to him on the bed was cold as if no one was ever there. However, the blanket smelled like the gentle sweet scent that felt familiar to Xiao Su—it was Jiang Xiaobai’s scent. Since she had been living at his place for such a long time, every corner of the house, including him, smelled this way. It smelled sweet but not sickening, and it made people feel relaxed.
Everything that happened yesterday gradually came back to him, piece by piece, as it incessantly played in his head. A few moments later, Xiao Su turned to look next to him. The blanket and the spot next to me are cold. Jiang Xiaobai must have left a while ago. How long have I slept? And where did she go?
As he still had not opened the door, the doorbell rang again, forcing Xiao Su to put on his clothes. After that, he sat on the edge of the bed and pinched his temples. He was befuddled as to how this had happened. He merely had a few more drinks last night and had not lost his sanity. Under such circumstances, how could he have…
B*stard! Xiao Su scolded himself as he thought about this. He was such a moron for doing this to a woman.
Ding-dong— The doorbell began to sound more urgently. Xiao Su finally got up to reach for the door. As soon as he opened the door, he heard Liang Yahe yell angrily, “What’s wrong with you? I’ve been ringing the doorbell for so long. Don’t you know how to open the door? You—” Before she could finish her sentence, she let out a surprised squeak and stared at Xiao Su’s neck.
Feeling confused, Xiao Su reached for his neck. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing!” Liang Yahe responded and waved him off with a smile. “I was just going to ask you and Xiaobai to head downstairs for breakfast. You guys can take your time; I’ll go now.” Then, Liang Yahe left right away, and before she went too far, she quickly came back and pushed Xiao Su back to the room before helping him close the door.
Looking clueless, Xiao Su stood behind the door for a moment and went into the bathroom. The moment he saw himself in the mirror, it finally explained the look that Liang Yahe gave him earlier. His neck was covered with red marks—some were bite marks, and some were lipstick marks. It was not difficult for anyone to figure out what happened. The corner of Xiao Su’s mouth twitched. He now knew why Liang Yahe let him pass; she must have misunderstood the situation—no, wait, there was no misunderstanding, as something did take place between Xiao Su and Jiang Xiaobai last night.
But he did not understand why Jiang Xiaobai was nowhere to be seen when he got up this morning. So, he took out his phone and gave Jiang Xiaobai a call only for it to be declined after a few rings.
Xiao Su was surprised. He pursed his thin lips and dialed the number again. This time around, a pre-recorded female voice sounded out, “Sorry, the number you have dialed is unavailable.”
Unavailable? Xiao Su squinted, reckoning that this woman had decided to not speak with him. Even so, he knew that she would be okay. She might just need some alone time right now, which was why she did not pick up his call, nor want to see him. Then, Xiao Su looked around the room and noticed that Jiang Xiaobai had taken all her belongings with her. Now that she was gone and refused to talk to him, Xiao Su let out a sigh and began to pack his things away.
Liang Yahe, on the other hand, was extremely happy, to the extent that she was already picturing herself as a grandmother. After Xiao Su came down to have breakfast, she eased over next to him and said, “When do you plan to get married?” These words gave Xiao Su a jolt. Seeing that he did not respond, Liang Yahe added, “Don’t tell me you’ve never thought about that. You’re a man, so you have to be responsible. Don’t call me your mother anymore if you have no plans to get married.”
Even though she did not make it explicit, it was clear enough for Xiao Su to receive her message. What she meant was that if Xiao Su had no intention of marrying Jiang Xiaobai after sleeping with her, that would make him a jerk. Also, as a man, he should be responsible; if he had no intention of marrying her, he should not get intimate with her.
Before they could tell them the truth, the situation had spiraled out of control. Since Jiang Xiaobai no longer wanted to talk to him, he had no idea what she thought about this whole situation. Xiao Su responded in a deep voice, “Let me ask how she feels about it.” He knew that the victim in this incident was Jiang Xiaobai and he was just a jerk. So, he reckoned he had to ask her for her opinion before making any decisions by himself.
Liang Yahe’s eyes widened as she heard his response. “You little b*stard, haven’t you decided already?”
