After scrolling through Jiang Xiaobai’s contacts to find Xiao Su’s phone number, Fang Tangtang made a call to him.
When Fang Tangtang came back, Jiang Xiaobai was already lying on the countertop, yelling at the bartender, “One… one more glass for me…”
“Your friend still wants a drink; should I give it to her?” The bartender frowned worriedly at Fang Tangtang.
Remembering the call that she just made as she looked at Jiang Xiaobai’s current state, Fang Tangtang shrugged.“Just give it to her.”
Hearing that, the bartender unwillingly gave Jiang Xiaobai another glass of drink.
After getting her drink, Jiang Xiaobai obediently sat there while she sipped her drink, not making any more fuss. Fang Tangtang knew that she couldn’t leave Jiang Xiaobai alone before Xiao Su arrived, so she just stood beside Jiang Xiaobai to guard her.
She shook her head helplessly when she saw Jiang Xiaobai blanklessly sipping her drink.
Why is this person drinking her booze as if she was drinking milk…
“Xiaobai.” Fang Tangtang gently called out her name then continued on saying, “Listen to me, this is your last drink okay? After this glass, let’s go home; do you understand?”
Jiang Xiaobai did not answer, nor did she refute either. She was immersed in her drink, and Fang Tangtang didn’t even know whether she had taken in her words.
Seeing that, Fang Tangtang could only shake her head. Then she gently patted Jiang Xiaobai on her shoulder, and softly whispered, “This is your last drink. Let’s stop after this.”
“What did you say?” Jiang Xiaobai innocently asked as she held her head high and finished her drink in one big gulp. You could see that her face was glowing red as she glanced at Fang Tantang.
Fang Tangtang was baffled. Gosh! This is so irritating!
“I said you are not allowed to drink anymore! I’ll ditch you at the streets if you keep drinking! Do you hear me?!” Fang Tangtang’s lips twitched.
Fang Tangtang’s suddenly blew her top, looking as though she was about to explode.
Jiang Xiaobai was taken aback when she saw Fang Tangtang’s furious reaction. Therefore, she just blankly looked at Fang Tangtang in silence. Then, she lay on the countertop as she pouted her lips saying, “Fine, I’m not drinking anymore.”
“Xiaobai, you’re a good girl. Just wait here for someone to come fetch you, then go home and have a good night’s sleep, okay?” Fang Tangtang responded by stroking her head, although she was surprised that Jiang Xiaobai was suddenly cooperating.
“Um, sure…” Jiang Xiaobai obeyed while she continued to rest on the counter to wait quietly.
The bartender was shocked by Jiang Xiaobai’s behavior because she had always appeared rambunctious. Most of the time, she would wear a very loose fitted T-shirt paired with a pair of baggy pants, which did not seem girl-like at all.
Not only that, she had single-handedly dragged Xiao Su out of the bar just recently, which left the bartender with the impression that she was a tough cookie.
So she’s the kind of girl who is born with a pretty face but a heart of steel, the bartender thought to himself.
He never would have thought that she had this cute side of her. Not being able to hide his feelings, he took a closer look at Jiang Xiaobai who was unconscious and slowly drifted into his thoughts.
Oooh, feels like something is pulling my heartstrings.
The fact that she has such a contrast in her behavior suits his appetite.
While the bartender was falling in love, a sound disturbed his concentration, “What are you doing?” Fang Tangtang snapped, with her arms crossed in front of her chest, seemingly about to destroy him with just a look. She looked like an old mother-hen trying to protect her chick.
“Ahem…” Only then did the bartender realize his actions. He awkwardly rubbed his nose, saying, “Nothing.”
“Don’t fool me! Are you falling for Xiaobai now? She’s already taken. Do not try making a move on her, or else I will break your arms. Are you clear?” Fang Tangtang angrily expressed.
The bartender felt perplexed after he was suddenly called out by Fang Tangtang. He could not understand why the seemingly gentle lady could look so ferocious.
Also, why was he the one who always got hurt?
When Xiao Su arrived, Jiang Xiaobai was already sleeping on the countertop. Fang Tangtang waved to him with enthusiasm upon seeing his figure.
As he saw a familiar figure resting, he walked over with his long legs.
“Thank god you’re finally here!” Fang Tangtang exclaimed she could finally breathe once Xiao Su was here, then she pointed at Jiang Xiaobai. “She’s drunk; I’m not strong enough to carry her back. I heard that she’s staying at your place too, so… I’ll just leave her under your care?”
Xiao Su eyebrows crinkled. Why does she have to share everything?
But the person in front of him felt familiar, as she seemed to be the girl who was always beside Jiang Xiaobai. They must have a close-knit relationship.
If that was the case, then it wasn’t surprising that this girl knew everything.
“Uh, what about you?” he pursed his lips and asked.
“Me?” Fang Tangtang froze for a second then laughed. “I’m fine. I have other stuff to do, so Xiaobai is under your care now, bye!”
Fang Tangtang then immediately disappeared out of sight.
It was too late for Xiao Su to say anything. He still found it odd that Fang Tangtang would call him over since she and Jiang Xiaobai were best friends.
Shouldn’t it be more appropriate for Fang Tangtang to call her family if Jiang Xiaobai was this drunk?
Xiao Su was not her boyfriend nor did they share a close relationship. So he was quite surprised to receive her call this late at night.
Still, he showed up.
He just felt that it was not safe for a girl to be drunk and alone in the bar.
Upon thinking of this, Xiao Su walked toward Jiang Xiaobai and nudged her shoulders. “Wake up, it’s time to go home now.”
His voice felt toneless and cold. Witnessing the whole scenario, the bartender could only recall Jiang Xiaobai’s cute and innocent looks as he blinked. If I have the chance to become her boyfriend, she would never have to take up this kind of cold-blooded treatment.
If I were a real man, I should just carry her up and go straight home!
Why nudge her shoulders?
Seeing that Jiang Xiaobai showed no response, Xiao Su reached out and nudged again. “Wake up.”
After Jiang Xiaobai was nudged twice, she frustratedly held up her head and glared at the person to show her anger. It was at that moment that Xiao Su had a clear look of Jiang Xiaobai.
Her eyes were blood-shot. Not only that, her face, neck, and even her ears were red as well.
Xiao Su felt speechless as he frowned and looked at Jiang Xiaobai, his eyes full of displeasure. How much had she drunk?
Thinking that she would get up after being disturbed, but in the end, Jiang Xiaobai only looked at him for a moment, and then she plopped back to sleep.
“Hey, dude… I just wanted to remind you that your girl has had too much to drink tonight. I don’t think she’ll be able to get up and walk by herself. Why don’t you just carry her home?” suggested the bartender as he walked over to them.
He swore that he came up with the suggestion because he could not bear to see the whole situation any longer. Unfortunately, his kind advice was met with Xiao Su’s stone-cold eyes.
Appalled by his look in Xiao Su’s eyes, the bartender quickly waved his hand. “Fine, just pretend that I’ve never said a word.”
Then the bartender turned to entertain the other customers.
Meanwhile, Xiao Su reached out for Jiang Xiaobai’s arms and picked her up.
