Jiang Xiaobai felt drowsy. She wasn’t able to sleep until four last night, and it was only around seven in the morning did she feel sleepy. As long as she closed her eyes, she could immediately fall back to sleep. The fact that she was able to hear Xiao Su’s voice and listen to his responses was already not easy. When she was in Xiao Su’s arms, she felt intensely warm in his embrace. Unintentionally, her body even rubbed against his embrace.
Xiao Su’s body froze. When he was about to push her away, Jiang Xiaobai hugged his slender waist even closer. Seeing this, Xiao Su was rendered speechless. He cackled while looking at the person that was tightly hugging him. “Jiang Xiaobai, is this your way of taking advantage of me while pretending to fall asleep?”
But he was not able to get an answer because Jiang Xiaobai was sleeping so soundly in his arms. As he looked down, he could see Jiang Xiaobai with her eyes closed, her long curved and thick lashes formed a light shadow, her face pale and clean, not a single color of lipstick on her lips, but rather the a natural, faint shade of color that was not bright but gave a soothing and clean feeling. After a while, Xiao Su wanted to put her on the sofa but seeing how the sofa looked, he did not feel comfortable putting her there to sleep, so he just carried her up.
Jiang Xiaobai was dead asleep. When she was carried, she only made a small sound before falling silent again. Upon seeing her in such a manner, Xiao Su figured that if anyone were to barge in and kidnap her, she probably would still be dead asleep. He then carried her into the bedroom, and left after a moment.
When Jiang Xiaobai awakened, it was nearly noon. She was still a little sleepy, and when she was sleeping, she felt that the sun was shining directly on her face and her eyelids, which made her extremely uncomfortable. When she opened her eyes and saw the sun in the bedroom, she was nearly blind. Who drew the curtain? Can’t I just get some rest? She snapped bitterly. After giving herself a piece of her mind, Jiang Xiaobai pulled her sheets over her head and everything returned to peaceful darkness. At last, she could continue on sleeping. However, after a while, her small head popped out of the covers.

She remembered working till midnight, then felt extremely sleepy not long later. She had considered going home, but because it would be too risky for her to go back home alone in this late night—since there was hardly anyone on the streets at this hour—she ended up sleeping on her couch. Also, the smell of this cover did not appear to be hers. Huh? Sitting up while holding her head, she began to recall what happened last night. Her memory started coming back one piece at a time. It began with Xiao Su waking her up, saying that he wanted to talk to her about something. However, she could not remember the details of the conversation—she couldn’t even remember a word. But she was confident she’d seen Xiao Su this morning. She even recalled Xiao Su waking her up to talk about something when she was still asleep on the sofa in the living room. Though Xiao Su’s blanket did not smell as sweet as hers, his blanket still smelled fresh and clean, which was the smell of freshly dried grass in the noon. It smelled amazingly good and fresh.
After staying with Xiao Su for a while, she realized that Xiao Su was a very neat and tidy person. His life was very simple but boring. He basically did not have any other entertainment besides work. There was a time when Jiang Xiaobai bumped into him at the bar, but it seemed that he never did anything since then. Suddenly, Jiang Xiaobai recalled what Fang Tangtang told her before. Why don’t you turn this fake show into a reality?

Then, she got herself out of her bed and headed straight out the room. Upon reaching the door, she looked back for a second and firmly shut the door behind her.
As Jiang Xiaobai was still a young woman, there was nothing to hide between her and her best friend. Thus, after finishing her breakfast, she quickly called Fang Tangtang to rant.
After hearing what she had to say, Fang Tangtang promptly made a decision, “He likes you!”
Jiang Xiaobai said, “Girl, can you stop teasing me? He already has someone in mind. Besides, how can we be sure that he likes me by just one indicator?”
“Oh, I guess you are the one who likes him.”
Jiang Xiaobai was speechless. Rolling her eyes, she said, “Fang Tangtang, I realized there’s something wrong with your brain!”
“Isn’t it the truth?” Upon being roasted, Fang Tangtang immediately questioned her, “Jiang Xiaobai, who is the one with her brain muddled here? I said he likes you, but you didn’t want to hear it. But when I said that you like him, you didn’t want to accept it either. So, if you really don’t think anything will happen between you two, then why did you tell me? If you aren’t bothered by this, you wouldn’t be calling me deliberately just to tell me, would you? I think you really do care.”
After being rebutted by Fang Tangtang, Jiang Xiaobai became clear-headed. Somehow Fang Tangtang’s words sound reasonable.
“See, you have nothing more to say, right? Just admit that I am right!”
Jiang Xiaobai promptly denied after giving it some thoughts, “Stop with the nonsense. I was bored, so I decided to just talk to you about the situation. I have only one guy in my circle, so don’t you think I’ll pay more attention to every little thing he does?”
“Well, you do have a point. It’s indeed true that he’s the only guy who’s in your circle. In that case, may I suggest you steer clear of him quickly, because if this continues on, what will you do if you really fall for him?”
“You’re mocking me again! I, Jiang Xiaobai, will not fall in love with a man who already has a lover in his heart. Do you understand? I am not that insensible!” Jiang Xiaobai rebuked.
“I know his heart belongs to someone else, but he did not get her right? Time heals all things. Besides that, you are always around him. Maybe you can take advantage of it.”
“Take advantage?” Jiang Xiaobai frowned when she heard the phrase. “Please, I am definitely not the type of person that would take advantage of this situation. This type of relationship is plainly useless.” Though Jiang Xiaobai had no experience in love, she was still a hopeless romantic. Her idealistic view of love held dreams and fantasies. That was why she had never developed any affection for Xiao Su. She only viewed him as a brotherly figure rather than a lover.
