It didn’t take long for Ye Moxuan before he ordered someone to complete Little Bean’s school admission. He asked someone to send Little Bean straight to school right after the applications were completed. For the first day, Han Muzi even brought Little Bean over there herself before she consulted with the teachers. Due to Little Bean’s looks, he was welcomed by everyone in the noble school.
He had actually gone to school before, but the current one was different from the previous one because they had switched schools for him. The teachers here were new to him as well, so they needed to know each other. After they were introduced to each other, Little Bean remained in school and before the teacher left, she had arranged his seat right next to a cute little girl.
The little girl had two adorable braids. She sat in a straight posture with her tender, pale skin and her exceptionally bright, intelligent eyes that were as clear as a river. She wore a flowery dress along with a pair of pink shoes—the combination of pink and white on her made her even more charming.
When Little Bean sat next to her, the teachers couldn’t help but exclaim, “The beauty of these two kids are off the charts. They are really eye-catching when they’re sitting next to each other.”
The other teacher who stood beside also nodded her head in agreement. “Yes. The two of you will be sitting with each other from now on. Yishu, your deskmate is called Qiao Luo. We all call her Luoluo. Both of you will need to get along well in the future.”
Little Bean had a glance at his deskmate and noticed that the little girl’s expression was timid. After listening to the teacher’s words, she stole a peek at Little Bean but never said anything to him. When she noticed that he looked at her as well, she immediately turned away, as if nothing had just happened.
“Alright. The two of you will be good deskmates from now on.” The class started after the teacher walked away. Later on, they finished the class.
Meanwhile, Little Bean realized that his deskmate, Qiao Luo, was a reticent little girl. She was serious and had her tiny body straightened while focusing on the teacher in front when class was in session.
When the class was over, Little Bean felt tired sitting there, so he stretched his body. As he was about to lie on the table to have a rest, a few kids ran over to his side all at once.
“Let’s see what Qiao Luo brought to school today.”
“Qiao Luo, did you bring anything for me to eat today?”
Before Qiao Luo could answer any of them, the kids rushed up to her and grabbed her bag immediately after pushing her aside. When they rummaged through her bag, all her hairpins and books fell to the ground.
“Ah, this looks good… Can you give it to me? Please?”
“I want this!”
Qiao Luo didn’t dare to refuse them while she maintained a timid expression. When everyone asked her, she carefully revealed a flattering smile with her lips. “A-Alright.”
The kids took everything inside Qiao Luo’s bag before they turned away and left in excitement. As she anxiously looked at how the other kids held each other’s hands, she twitched her pink lips as though she wanted to say something, but she lacked the courage to do so in the end. Therefore, she only lowered her lashes quietly before she leaned over to collect her items on the floor.
In the meantime, Little Bean lay on the table with his head tilted to one side as he watched Qiao Luo picking up her bag. She had gently picked up her bag with her clean hands before patting away the dust on it. After that, she placed the bag under the drawer of her desk. She probably noticed Little Bean’s eyes on her afterward because she turned her head toward him. As soon as her eyes met with his, she quickly turned her head away in shock.
Little Bean remained quiet while glancing at her curiously. This little girl is so weird. She acts like nothing has happened even after having her stuff snatched from her.
Qiao Luo noticed that her new deskmate still glanced at her. At first, she didn’t dare to look at him face-to-face, but after a while, her new deskmate seemed not to have other reactions, so she slowly turned her head toward him. “D-Do you want to play with me?”
Little Bean startled for a moment. “Huh?”
Qiao Luo thought that he was unwilling to play with her, so her tiny face immediately flushed. Then, she responded in panic, “N-Nothing. I’m just asking.”
After that, she stood up in a hurry and ran off. Little Bean felt strange as he had no idea what just happened. My new deskmate is so weird. The people here are so boring, and they even snatch other people’s items. To be honest, they didn’t seem to be snatching her stuff. At least they asked for her permission first and they took her items after she nodded her head. When can I leave class and go home? I really want to go back to Mommy’s side right now.

For the past two days, Yan was on pins and needles as she was restless on a daily basis. She barely concentrated while running the shop, so she made a few mistakes when she worked in the kitchen. Luo Huimei dragged her out immediately in the end. “What’s wrong with you these few days? Why do you keep making mistakes?”
Luo Huimei scolded Yan for the latter’s mistakes. Yan instantly felt guilty as she lowered her head. “Mom, I’m fine. My mind just drifted away a little.”
“You’re fine? You’ve never made these kinds of mistakes before and now you’re making lots of it. You’re still telling me that you’re fine? Do you really think that I’ll believe you?”
After hearing Luo Huimei’s words, Yan bit her lower lip and answered hesitantly, “I’m really fine. I simply got distracted. That’s it.”
“You need to be honest with me. Is there any problem between you and Han Qing?”
Yan exclaimed, “Mom! Can you not curse us? There’s no problem between us!”
“Then, why are you distracted?”
Yan never intended to inform Luo Huimei the truth. The truth was that her period was supposed to be arriving soon, but it never arrived and it made her both nervous and excited. Her period was never accurate—it would sometimes come later and sometimes earlier. Therefore, she didn’t dare to harbor any suspicions just because her period was late for a day or two. However, after that incident, she was now nervous and worried about falling pregnant. That was the actual reason why she was distracted while working because she was thinking about this for the past two days.
“I’m just feeling a bit uncomfortable. I-I want to go back home and rest, Mom.”
Seeing Yan’s pale face, Luo Huimei approached the former before touching her forehead after a thought entered her mind. “Are you under the weather? Which part of you is uncomfortable? Do I need to send you to the hospital?”
“No! No! No!” Yan continued to refuse Luo Huimei. “Mom, I can see the doctor myself!” With that, she took off her apron and left with her phone.
“This kid… She just leaves whenever she wants to. Will she be fine alone in the hospital?”
After leaving the ramen restaurant, Yan walked aimlessly on the streets for some time before she suddenly saw a pharmacy. Then, she mysteriously entered the place. There weren’t many customers in the pharmacy. Usually, she behaved normally when she entered to buy her items, but today, she resembled a guilty thief who broke in. She was sneaky and cautious when she purchased her stuff, as though she was afraid of being discovered by other people.
