Jiang Xiaobai’s anger rose immediately after she spoke. She suddenly didn’t feel like sitting in Xiao Su’s car and unfastened her seatbelt before opening the door.
“Where are you going?” Xiao Su called her.
Jiang Xiaobai looked back at him and sneered. “I don’t need you to send me. I can flag a cab myself.”
Slam! Jiang Xiaobai slammed the door and she walked to the side of the road in her high heels. Due to her height, her legs were long, so her steps that she took were big.
Seeing that gave Xiao Su a headache. He might have overreacted a little, but she had the same reaction to him. He exited the car and followed her. “Get in the car. You won’t get a cab here.”
“It’s not up to you to say whether I can get a cab or not,” Jiang Xiaobai retorted. “I can handle it by myself. Mr. Xiao, I won’t enter your car again. I don’t want to give myself a fright again.”
“I’m sorry, I overreacted a little just now. I have apologized, so will you get into the car now?”
Upon hearing that, Jiang Xiaobai stopped. The smile on her face didn’t have a single trace of warmth. “There’s no need, Mr. Xiao. I don’t think I can afford to receive your apology.”
Xiao Su couldn’t help but frown when he heard that and looked at Jiang Xiaobai with his eyes full of questions. “Do you have to be so mad?”

Why can’t I be mad?” She blamed all of her anger on him suddenly slamming the brakes, for which he had to apologize to her.
“Well, that was indeed my fault. You won’t get a cab here. Get on.”
However, Jiang Xiaobai stood still. Xiao Su stared at her fair and delicate face as he spoke, “Are you getting in yourself or do you want me to carry you in?”
Jiang Xiaobai’s face changed instantly when she heard Xiao Su’s flirtatious words as she stared at him helplessly. “You!”
“Hmm?” Xiao Su’s chin pointed toward the passenger seat. “Are you coming?”
“I’m not. I don’t believe that you will actually get out of the car to carry me.” Jiang Xiaobai stood there with both of her arms crossed in front of her as she looked at him provocatively with her chin tilted upward.
Their eyes met for one second or two seconds. Five seconds later, Xiao Su suddenly stopped the car, unbuckled his seatbelt and exited—all in one go.
Jiang Xiaobai originally stood there with an arrogant aura, but she panicked a little when she saw Xiao Su getting out of the car. When he walked toward her, she no longer maintained her original posture and looked at him with vigilance. “What are you going to do? You aren’t really going to carry me to the car, are you? I’m telling you, Xiao Su, I’m not getting into your car. You—ah!”
Before she could finish her sentence, Xiao Su had already carried her up from her waist. Jiang Xiaobai’s eyes widened in shock and she wanted to push him away, but found herself too weak in comparison to Xiao Su. He held her up so easily and tucked her into the front passenger seat before leaning over to fasten her seatbelt. She still wanted to resist but he grabbed her wrist and pressed it on the passenger seat as he looked gloomy. “If you get down again, believe it or not, I’ll tie you up.” The way he looked scared her into silence.
Jiang Xiaobai stared at Xiao Su blankly and without any reaction. It was only when Xiao Su noticed that she was quiet that he finally closed the door.
As for Jiang Xiaobai, who was sitting in the passenger seat, her heart raced as she felt the warmth from Xiao Su’s palm lingering on her wrist. Although she was usually bold and acted like a tomboy with the belief that she could handle everything even when the sky fell apart, she actually felt that things were out of her control the moment Xiao Su carried her up. He said he would carry her up and he kept to his word. There was no point for her to resist and for some reason, Jiang Xiaobai’s mood was stranger than normal as she felt the heat on her cheeks and her ears.
Xiao Su was already seated in the driver’s seat and he shot a glance at her. When their eyes met, Jiang Xiaobai immediately dodged his gaze.
“To your house or mine?”
Jiang Xiaobai had already eaten, so there was no point in going to Xiao Su’s house. As her equipment and laptop were unfortunately at his place, she was about to say that they should go to his place, but changed her mind. “I’ll head home.”
Xiao Su said nothing and drove off. Jiang Xiaobai remained silent for the rest of the journey. Not only did she stop making a fuss, she also stopped speaking. He was a little surprised by her behavior and glanced at her a few times.
She looked into his eyes after he had looked at her too many times. “What are you looking at?”

He turned around, but this agitated Jiang Xiaobai. “What now? Are you not used to me being quiet? Let me remind you that we are a fake couple. “If you hadn’t refused to get into the car, I wouldn’t have—”

He turned around to look at her as he spoke indifferently, “You said everything. What else am I supposed to say?”
“Come on, I was being reasonable, okay? You make it sound like I’m being unreasonable. Weren’t you the one who kept reminding me that we’re a fake couple? I’m just reminding you as well. Do you have a problem with that?”
“No problem, go on.”
Jiang Xiaobai was beyond words. Xiao Su suddenly glanced at her, saying indifferently, “Since you said that I’m not allowed to hug you, you have to abide by this rule as well. You’re also not allowed to hug me suddenly.”
Jiang Xiaobai’s eyes widened. “Who on earth hugged you? You promised me that you will cooperate with me whenever there is a stranger, but when you carried me earlier, there wasn’t anyone else present. How can you compare this with that?”
Xiao Su was speechless. Looking at her fierce and righteous expression, he decided not to continue this topic.
“Why are you quiet? Are you admitting it?”
“Jiang Xiaobai.”
