Walking over, Han Qing squatted beside her and patted her face gently.
“Yan?”
Yan was fast asleep. It took Han Qing a while before she slowly awoke and opened her weary pair of eyes to look at the person in front of her.
“Hmm??” She yawned. It seemed she was still exhausted. Looking gentle, Han Qing reached out and put his palm under her chin and softly asked, “Have you slept enough?”
Yan was initially still in a daze until she clearly saw who was right in front of her. That was when a sheepish smile appeared on her face. “You’re back?”
Her fair white face was flushed because she was soaked in the bathtub for too long. Her teary eyes looked like a ripple in a pond.

Han Qing felt his throat growing taut, and his voice got deeper. “Yeah, I’m back.”
Yan smiled sheepishly and asked, “What were you up to?”
Han Qing did not say a word.
That question disrupted his breathing as he dodged the lady’s gaze. “Why don’t you get out of the bath first? The water’s no longer warm. You’ll catch a cold if you continue soaking in it.”
“Huh?” Yan looked at him, puzzled.
Han Qing couldn’t help snickering and thinking, This lady can’t possibly still be in a daze from her sleep and still unaware of the situation she’s in, can she?
So, Yan just stared at him for quite a while before she suddenly thought about something. Her facial expression then changed slightly as she looked down.
“Ah!” She suddenly realized where she was, and she shrieked as she sank even deeper into the water of the bathtub.
But before she could fully submerge herself in the water, Han Qing immediately reached out his large hands to lift her by her shoulders. He then said to her, slightly annoyed, “I already told you the water was getting cold and you’re going even deeper into it?”
“But… But…” Yan stuttered and looked at him, too nervous to speak coherently.
“Hmm?” Han Qing’s handsome face looked like he was trying hard to hold in a laugh as he slowly leaned over toward her, and with a hint of tease in his tone, he said, “You weren’t like this when you came on to me last night.”
Yan’s face blushed an even brighter red when he mentioned what happened the night before. She awkwardly bit her lip and said, “I… I was just trying to help you last night, that’s why I—”
“Oh?” Han Qing stared at her playfully. “So there wasn’t even a bit of self-interest somewhere?”
Self-interest?
“Of course, there wasn’t! I… I didn’t do it out of self-interest at all! I did all that to help you! If you weren’t in so much pain, I… I wouldn’t have…”
Her face was beet red before she could reach the end of that sentence, and she couldn’t continue any further.
She denied so completely that she totally did not acknowledge her own agenda for all this. Han Qing knew that this lady might just blow up from embarrassment if he continued to tease her. So, he gently pinched her chin with one hand and approached her lips as he sighed. “You ungrateful little lady.”
He lowered his head to kiss her after saying that.
Yan was still thinking, When was I ungrateful? Since I’ve already slept with you, I’m not going to admit that I was the one who initiated the whole thing. I will just insist that I was doing all this for your own good to save face, hmph!
Little did she know Han Qing would just suddenly kiss her. She was instantly stunned where she was, unable to respond at all.
It was until her teeth were pried open that she realized Han Qing was kissing her as a strong adult man with needs.

Yan let out a moan. The next second, she felt an arm around her waist as she was lifted out of the bathtub.

“Put on some clothes and get ready for dinner.”

He just left Yan standing there looking silly.
A few minutes later, Yan came out fully-clothed. The moment she saw Han Qing, she immediately thought of what happened last night and couldn’t help blushing. One thing led to another, and she thought about what happened in the bathroom and blushed even more.
“If your face gets any redder, we’ll be cooking dinner on your face.”
Han Qing still had to tease her. Yan immediately felt uncomfortable and hopped to him to tell him off, “You evil man. I was doing all that yesterday to help you. Is this how you repay your benefactor? You just keep teasing me!”
She pointed her index at Han Qing, but without looking, Han Qing just grabbed onto it and pulled her into his arms. His voice deepened with a hint of hoarseness.
“How was I teasing you?” He leaned over and placed his thin lips on her ear lobe. “My Yan is so understanding that I can’t wait to love her, so why would I tease her?”

She never thought that one night in bed with him would change the way he addressed her.
