Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1255

After hearing what he said, Han Muzi glared at him.

“Why is it that, from your tone, this matter doesn’t seem to be that important?”

“How can it possibly be unimportant?” Ye Moxuan lifted his hand to wipe the corner of her lips. His voice was slightly gentler than before as he said, “I thought you were ignoring me because you blamed me for coming home late.”

Han Muzi kept silent. How was that possible?

In order to spend more time with Little Sprout and her, Ye Moxuan had washed his hands clean of almost all company matters. But at the end of the day, the company still belonged to him, so he still had to attend some important functions.

For a major meeting such as today’s, it was a given that it would take at least most of the day. Han Muzi used to work in the company, so she naturally knew how important a meeting like today’s was.

How could she possibly blame him for coming home late?

“I didn’t think you’d think of me as such an unreasonable woman.”

Uh-oh…

Ye Moxuan dared not speak recklessly anymore and changed his statement.

“No, I just felt like I came home late and pissed you off. I deserved it.”

“Don’t change the subject!”

Did I change the subject?

He actually remembered very clearly what happened that year.

But he knew that fate had them meet again. If Ye Moxuan didn’t have Chinese medicine on him that night, maybe he wouldn’t have bumped into her.

Also, if Han Muzi had never divorced her ex-husband, she probably wouldn’t have been walking alone on that deserted road.

“Why aren’t you talking?” Han Muzi looked at him suspiciously. “What are you thinking about?”

“I was thinking…” Ye Moxuan paused for a moment before continuing again casually, “If you didn’t come out that night, I would’ve driven back home and whatever that happened after wouldn’t have happened, so there wouldn’t have been another woman. There would’ve been only two possible outcomes; one was nothing and the other was you.”

In fact, Ye Moxuan had been keeping this in his heart for a very long time, and he truly meant it. But he was also really worried that he would say something wrong and upset Muzi.

When Muzi heard him say “If you didn’t come out that night, I would’ve driven back home,” she couldn’t help cursing him inwardly. Dimwit! However, when Ye Moxuan added “There would’ve only been two outcomes; one was nothing and the other was you,” this phrase alone had her in the palm of his hands.

She gritted her teeth gently as she felt her heart quivering, and all the anger that once boiled from within her just disappeared instantaneously.

“Then…” Han Muzi initially thought of asking more but realized there wasn’t the need for it after some thought. Since he had said so, what else is there that I can complain about?

Even though Han Muzi never said anything after that, Ye Moxuan could tell from the look on her face that Han Muzi was no longer angry.

But, he wasn’t stupid. There was a smile on the edge of his lips, and even though he was smiling, he didn’t seem too kind.

“Muzi, you were on your phone when I came home, weren’t you?”

This sudden question caught Han Muzi by surprise, but she still nodded nonetheless.

“You were chatting?”

Han Muzi nodded again.

“Yan sent you a message?”

Han Muzi started to realize something was off. Although he was usually concerned about her, he seldom interrogated her like today. Could it be…

“In the future, if I was in a meeting and not at home, perhaps you could get her to chat with you so that your mind wouldn’t wander too much,” Ye Moxuan added quickly, most likely because he sensed that she was getting suspicious about something.

Upon hearing that, the thought that was starting to form in Han Muzi’s mind was instantly quelled where it stood, and she felt relieved.

She was terrified, for she thought that Ye Moxuan was going to make things difficult for Yan.

Good thing he isn’t.

“Okay, I got it.” Han Muzi nodded.

“So, you’re not mad at me anymore?” Ye Moxuan asked again.

Han Muzi was speechless.

This man is really annoying! He’s been hugging and kissing me the whole day, yet he still had to ask? Han Muzi was too lazy to be bothered and only responded with a snort. She then said, “In the future, when Little Sprout is around, you can’t just kiss me casually like that. Even though she’s still young, we can’t influence her like that!”

Ye Moxuan pinched lightly on her nose and said, “Okay, I got it. Can we go home now?”

Yan, who was abroad, had no idea one word of hers would cause such a commotion among this Ye Family couple. But in the end, both of them settled it amicably and made up with each other.

Yan was lying in bed, and she saw the message Han Qing had left her when she picked up her phone. He said he was settling some stuff downstairs and would be back in the evening, but he had ordered room service for her and asked her to give the front desk a call when she woke up.

But Yan was so eager to chat with Han Muzi that she had totally overlooked all this.

It was only after she was done chatting with her that she realized she was famished.

I guess I should eat first, since Han Qing is out doing who knows what…

When the waiter pushed the meal cart into the hotel room and removed the cover, the smell of food immediately permeated the whole room and whetted Yan’s appetite. The waiter then told her to call them if she had any more requests and excused himself.

Yan caressed her tummy and proceeded to drink some soup.

After eating for a while, Yan was slightly depressed. After what happened last night, she woke up unable to see him, and he was out probably until the evening.

What is so important?

But Yan took it very well and just forgot about it after a while. That was because she knew Han Qing all too well. It had to be something important for sure, or he wouldn’t have left her alone like that.

It was probably because she was too tired, but Yan ate the most she had ever eaten, and she only realized when she was about to finish that she hadn’t left any for Han Qing.

It’s all gone.

Yan looked at the mess on the dining table before her and rubbed her stuffed belly, feeling awkward.

She accidentally overate.

Because of that, Yan called the room service and had the waiter clean up the dishes, and she ordered another meal to be sent up when Han Qing came back later tonight.

The waiter took the order and left.

Yan thought of drawing a bath to relax herself since Han Qing hadn’t returned after a while. The hot water washed away her fatigue, but it also made her feel sleepy. As she lay in the bathtub, she slowly dozed off into dreamland.

When Han Qing was done with his things and got back to the hotel, it was already evening. Before he went up, he went by the front desk and found out that Yan had been awake and had eaten, so he had the waiter send dinner upstairs, only to find out that Yan had already ordered a meal.

He was in a brief daze but went upstairs soon after.

It was quiet in the room when he opened the door. Han Qing smacked his lips thinking, Could it be that the girl is still sleeping?

Was she too tired from last night?

But he soon found out that Yan wasn’t in the bedroom.

After some searching, he finally found his little lady in the bathroom.

But this time, he found her sprawled by the bathtub fast asleep. Her darkened eyebags showed how tired she was from the night before.

Han Qing’s heart pinched slightly as he went over to feel the temperature of the water and furrowed his eyebrows after he did.

The water had started to cool down, and this lady had been in it for who knew how long. If he didn’t come back, she probably would still be in the tub till the water turned cold.
