“What happened here?”
“Miss Han!” As soon as the receptionist caught sight of Han Muzi, the contemptuous expression on her face earlier instantly morphed into a completely different expression, and she trotted over to Han Muzi in an ingratiating manner. “Miss Han, why are you free to come to the office today? President Han went on a business trip a few days ago, so he isn’t in the office now.”
When the woman who’d been chased away in the distance heard that Han Qing had gone on a business trip, a glimmer of turmoil flashed across her eyes. So, he has gone on a business trip?
Flashing her a faint smile, Han Muzi replied in a soft voice, “I know.”
The receptionist was stunned for a moment before she then gathered herself together. She felt that she’d said something useless. She’s President Han’s beloved sister, so when the brother has to leave for a business trip, he’ll definitely notify his sister. She rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment. “Miss Han, why don’t you take Little Young Master upstairs first?
Han Muzi had initially planned to go upstairs because she was here to visit Su Jiu after taking a look around, but now, she had something else to handle. “I’m in no hurry. Tell me what had happened here first. Who is she?”
Upon hearing the receptionist say that Han Muzi was Han Qing’s sister, the woman gazed over at Han Muzi with a dubious look in her eyes. When her gaze alighted on Han Muzi’s face, it gradually cleared, and she then walked over to her with small steps. “You… You are Han Qing’s sister, yes? I… I recognize you…”
“Oh?” Han Muzi raised her eyebrows when she heard that. “You recognize me?”
“Of course, I do.” As the woman looked at Han Muzi, her smile turned warm. “I’ve even carried you when you were just born, but you then went missing, so we didn’t have a chance to see each other again. Unexpectedly, Han Qing truly found you. You resemble your mother a lot.”
The receptionist couldn’t help snorting upon hearing this. “You’re truly audacious… that you’d tell any lie at all for the sake of marrying into riches. Now, you actually claimed that you’d carried President Han’s sister before? Why don’t you simply say that you’re from a wealthy family? Why, you’re embarrassed because you’ve fallen into such dire straits? Miss Han, this woman is out of her mind. She refuses to leave and even claims that she knows both you and President Han. I’ll call security to take her away at once.” After saying that, she beckoned for the security personnel.
Han Muzi, however, stared at the woman thoughtfully. Her gaze is sincere, while her smile is warm and pure. She doesn’t seem as though she’s lying, so perhaps she really does know me? “You mean, you’re my brother’s old friend?” she asked.
The woman nodded. “Yeah. You believe me?”
The receptionist hurried chimed in, “Miss Han, you mustn’t believe her. There are four or five people at the very least who claim to know President Han every day, so you definitely can’t believe her.”
The receptionist had her own responsibilities, thus Han Muzi merely flashed her a faint smile. “It’s fine. I can handle this, so I’ll talk to her. You can just continue with your work first.”
Her words obviously meant to tell the receptionist that she needn’t be bothered about this anymore. The receptionist gave her a discomfited glance before ultimately relenting, turning around to leave.
Han Muzi moved forward, but the woman unconsciously took a small step back and kept her distance from Han Muzi. “Don’t come too close to me. I… am a bit dirty.” The woman was distinctly mortified as she said this, her expression exceedingly awkward.
“It’s fine.” Han Muzi smiled faintly. “Earlier, you said you’ve carried me back when you were young?”
The woman was stunned before she then nodded. “Yes. When your mother gave birth to you, I’ve begun to retain memories. At that time, our families were very close, so I often went over to your house, thus I had the chance to carry you. Back then, your grandfather was particularly happy since he has gotten a granddaughter, and he never wanted to put you down every day. You were incredibly adorable when you were young, tiny and fair, just like a steamed bun fresh from the steamer.”
This comparison had Han Muzi’s face flushing with mortification. Upon hearing all her vivid descriptions when she spoke, Han Muzi was fairly certain that she indeed knew Han Qing, and their families might very well have been friends. However, something must have happened that she’d ended up in such a state right now.
After that, Han Muzi brought her to the hotel and got her settled. The woman took out her ID to book a room, and when Han Muzi was done with all the check-in procedures for her, she bit her lower lip and declared, “When I’ve earned some money in the future, I’ll definitely pay you back this money.”
Later, they then chatted a bit more, whereby Han Muzi asked her a few questions out of curiosity, only to discover that she’d been betrothed to Han Qing when she was young. After learning about this, Han Muzi became extremely restless. If this woman had come to look for Han Qing back when he was single, it might have been a good thing, but he’s now with Yan. If this matter isn’t handled well…
After having recalled the event on this day thus far, Han Muzi decided to let Yan enjoy herself first. After all, this was a rare trip, and their relationship could only advance if both of them interact harmoniously without any barrier between them. This was the most important thing. ‘It isn’t anything important, so it makes no difference to tell you when you’re back.’
However, Yan’s curiosity was piqued, and she kept haranguing Han Muzi to tell her everything, only to have her say that Ye Moxuan had come home with Little Sprout, so she’ll have a video call with her if she truly wanted to know. This utterance had her mind completely blown. Ye Moxuan is at home, and she wants to have a video call to tell me? Is she wishing his cold shoulder upon me? She declined. Thus, she no longer pestered Han Muzi but pulled her thoughts back to reality. The moon had already risen.
“What are you doing?” Han Qing suddenly came over and asked.
Casting him a sideways glance, Yan said softly, “Nothing much. Just now, I texted Muzi, but Young Master Ye then came home, so I didn’t continue chatting with her.”
“I see.” After saying that, he fell silent, and the two of them sat on the beach together. Yan wasn’t the kind of person who particularly loved to mingle about, so she sat a distance away. Furthermore, she was relatively shy, so she didn’t take the initiative to join the crowd.
Nonetheless, those few people who were on the ship with them earlier trotted over. “Yan, why are you still sitting over here? Quick, come over and join everyone else.”
They were so enthusiastic that Yan couldn’t dissuade them, so she could only turn to Han Qing beside her. Han Qing, however, extended a hand and stroked her head. “Go and have fun,” he said with a faint smile.
“W-What about you?”
“I’ll come over and look for you in awhile.”
At this, Yan finally nodded and got up to join the party with everyone else. Compared to her bashfulness and shyness, the others were all extremely enthusiastic and asked her all sorts of questions after she’d gone over. Several women were even interested in Han Qing, and everything they asked was about him, for instance, his name, occupation, how they got together, how long they’d been married, and the like.
These questions had her feeling exasperated, and she even felt that if it weren’t for him beside her at this party today, everyone probably wouldn’t have noticed her. Regretfully, he was too outstanding, so he took the spotlight among the crowd; this was something she’d known long ago.
