Lin Qin’er smiled and nodded as the girl fell into the trap. “Yes. You should go and change your clothes. By the time you’re done changing, your toothbrush and facial cleanser would be delivered to you.”
Yan smiled happily and nodded. “Okay, thank you. You can bring me those things later. For now, I’ll just go back and have a change.”
Lin Qin’er finally sighed as she watched Yan leave. She was really afraid that Yan would simply rush into the room. As expected, Yan was a little girl who didn’t know anything, so it was not difficult to ease her out. Even so, how could this little girl be so forgetful? How could she even forget her toothbrush and facial cleanser? And now Lin Qin’er had to help to deliver it to her?
Lin Qin’er felt the fire in her heart raging, but she still turned around and went in to help Yan get her toothbrush in order to maintain the image she created for herself. However, even after searching through the whole bathroom, Lin Qin’er couldn’t find the things mentioned by Yan. It wasn’t just the toothbrush, because she couldn’t find any facial cleanser either.
Lin Qin’er placed both her hands on the sink, as she stared at her own reflection in the mirror solemnly. This can’t be right. If she had really left those things behind, it would be impossible that neither of them could be found. If she really couldn’t find them, what else did this mean? It meant that she had been tricked by Yan!
Yan was lying to her face! Lin Qin’er clenched her fist as she realized what had just happened. Damn it! How could she be fooled by a girl who was so much younger than she was? However, Lin Qin’er soon came to realize why the girl decided to make a fool out of her! Did she already realize what was going on? But how could she know what was going on? She didn’t let her in…
Thinking of this, she decided to go out and have a look. After Yan confirmed that her thoughts were true, she wandered back to her room. Han Qing invited her to go over for some milk as soon as she entered the room. However, Yan had not even brushed her teeth. She ran to look for Lin Qin’er right after she got up. So how would she dare to drink milk in this state? Hence, Yan rejected his offer and immediately went to brush her teeth.
While Yan was halfway brushing, she heard a knock on the door. She thought it might be Lin Qin’er who was here to look for her, so she quickly spat her toothpaste out and washed her face. When she was about to go out, Han Qing stood in front of the door and said, “Eat your breakfast.”
“But…” Yan pointed at the door behind him. “Someone is knocking on the door, so I…”
Before she finished, Han Qing grabbed hold of her pale white wrists and dragged her back into the room, pushing her down onto the chair. “Nothing is more important than having your meal. You don’t have to care about anything else now.” He then shoved a bottle of milk into her hands. “You have to finish this.”
Yan blinked and realized that Han Qing didn’t look as if he was joking. She suddenly remembered that she heard someone knocking on the door while she was still fast asleep this morning. She did wake up to ask Han Qing about the knock on the door, but he brushed her off by saying that she misheard it and told her to get back to bed. Han Qing’s current expression was just like the one he had this morning. Could it be that…
Thinking about this, Yan’s eyes widened. “She was here this morning?”
Han Qing glanced at her with a faint smile and nodded. Seeing him admit it, Yan felt a bit upset. She initially thought she was dazed with sleep, but apparently Lin Qin’er really did come to knock on the door.
Yan stared at him suspiciously. “Why did she come here so early in the morning?”
Han Qing merely drank his juice in a leisurely manner as he said, “Who knows?” He didn’t ask why Lin Qin’er came; he just warned her to stop knocking on the door because he didn’t want her to disturb Yan, who was sound asleep. That was why he wasn’t able to answer her question.
“You don’t know?” Yan stared at him questioningly. “Didn’t you attend to her? She didn’t tell you anything?”
Han Qing stared at her and said, “Just stop talking and eat your meal.”
Why am I being cold-shouldered… Yan lowered her head and drank her milk gloomily. As she was being dragged back in by Han Qing earlier, the knocking on the door came to a stop. However, the person had now continued knocking on the door.
Han Qing was just leisurely sitting there even when the knocking on the door was loud and clear. If Yan wasn’t in the same room as him when she heard the knocking on the door, she would have thought that it was all just an illusion in her mind.
Compared to Han Qing, Yan was feeling slightly more self-conscious. She wasn’t able to drink her milk and eat her food in peace, but she was also afraid that if she attended the door without finishing her food, Han Qing would drag her back. Therefore, she had no choice but to devour her food.
As soon as she finished her food, she immediately wiped her mouth clean and stood up. “I’ve finished my food. I shall go and check on the door!” She then tossed the tissue into the dustbin next to her and ran away.
Looking at her hasty figure, Han Qing shook his head and thought, She really has to learn to settle her temper a little more. She’s already this anxious in the face of someone who’s that insignificant. If this persists, she would end up exhausting herself every time she encounters something similar. Hence, he made a decision to train Yan’s temper as soon as this thing was settled.
The sound of the knock on the door seemed to be getting more rapid when Yan walked toward it. The person who was waiting outside had become so impatient that she ended up ringing the doorbell several times. Sometimes the doorbell rang for a long time; sometimes it shrieked for a short while before it subsided.
Normally, Yan wouldn’t let Lin Qin’er wait so long outside. However, after what Lin Qin’er deliberately did to her in the morning, Yan dared not open the door immediately. Therefore, she felt no guilt at all to keep Lin Qin’er waiting outside. Taking a deep breath, she prepared herself for battle and went ahead to open the door.
Lin Qin’er got so angry while knocking on the door, but she didn’t want to expose her true colors, so she had to hold herself back from breaking the door. When she finally saw Yan coming up to open the door with that delicate and light-complexioned face, she was overcome by the urge to yell and strike the lady.
However, as she gave it a second thought, she realized that she still had to rely on Yan to get closer to Han Qing. After all, before she successfully got Han Qing on her hook, this little girl would be an important person highly valued by him. As soon as she got rid of this girl, she would definitely teach her a lesson.
After Lin Qin’er comforted herself, her anger finally subsided. She stared at Yan coldly, and there was still a tiny hint of blame in her voice. “Yan, what were you doing in there? You didn’t open the door for me even though I had been knocking for some time.”
Yan noticed her long face, and her eyes were glaring at her, as if she was about to gobble her up. Is this the way to treat a person who just saved your life? Yan always knew not to expect anything in return when helping someone out.
Therefore, when she saved Lin Qin’er, she didn’t expect anything in return. She was happy as long as she was able to help others. Besides, she wasn’t the kind of person who would help with everything. But since the incident happened right in front of her, she couldn’t bear it any longer and decided to help Lin Qin’er. But now that Lin Qin’er was staring at her with such a cannibalistic gaze, it really made her unhappy.
