Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1217

Cough! I was distracted again! Yan quickly shooed away her weird thought and slowly raised her phone up. I’m just kidding. Although a photo like this might be misleading, I’m not going to let an opportunity like this pass, especially when Han Qing took the initiative.

Although Yan was prepared for it, her heart still skipped a beat when she saw their faces on the screen. It might have been because the light was too bright or her mood, but she thought that he looked especially handsome. Such a great man held her in his arms and his broad shoulders were just perfect for her. The scene seemed so harmonious.

Click! Before Yan realized it, she had already taken a few shots in the same position. She couldn’t help but want to shoot again before feeling that they were all the same. Besides, if she took too many photos in the same position, Han Qing might laugh at her. So, Yan soon put her phone away after taking a few shots, but she was a little disappointed.

“What’s the matter?” The young lady’s emotion was written on her face, therefore, Han Qing was immediately able to read her mood.

Yan’s lips pressed against each other as she whispered, “I should’ve taken more photos when we were outside.”

Han Qing looked at Yan, who was in his arms. He couldn’t help but reach out to ruffle her hair. “Let’s take more photos when we are outside tomorrow then, shall we?”

“Really?” Yan looked at him nervously. “Won’t you be annoyed by me?”

Upon hearing that, Han Qing didn’t reply to her immediately. Instead, he stared at her helplessly.

“What’s wrong?” Yan’s heart immediately rose to her throat. Will he really be annoyed by me? Just as her thoughts ran wild, someone had flicked her forehead. She cried out in pain and covered her forehead before hearing Han Qing scolding her. “I told you to take more photos until you are satisfied yet you still thought about all those nonsense. Can you have a little confidence in yourself? I’m right next to you yet you are still thinking about all those?”

He was right—his words enlightened her. He is right next to me, so why do I still keep thinking about all those nonsense?

Thinking about it, Yan suddenly reached out and hugged Han Qing’s waist tightly as she buried her face into his chest. He is real and he is mine. What else do I have to worry about? At least he never had anyone else. Only me.

Han Qing once again raised his arms and was about to put it on her head, but he stopped as he remembered something. He then hugged her thin shoulders and enveloped her in his embrace.

The next day, Yan was still asleep when she heard someone knocking on the door, but she was too sleepy… Her eyelids were so weighted that she could hardly keep them open. Although her body heard the noise, her lethargy forcefully separated her from the outside world.

Knock, knock—

Knock—

There was a long, intermittent knock on the door. Han Qing opened his eyes and his dark pupils were calm without a slight confusion. He looked to his side and took a glance at the little girl sleeping next to him. Her entire body was hidden under the quilt, revealing only her head and her fair face. She was probably disturbed by the knock as her delicate eyebrows frowned. Even her nose was wrinkled up. Her sleepiness seemed to be dissipating from the noise soon.

They had slept together yesterday night, so Han Qing knew that Yan didn’t fall asleep in the beginning. She turned her back against him nervously and didn’t dare to fall asleep—even to the stage where she called his name several times. He pretended to be asleep to ease her nerves, so he knew that she went to the bathroom several times in the middle of the night and didn’t fall asleep until dawn.

Now that Yan heard the knock, her body responded to it but her mind was still muddled. If the knock continued, she could be woken up at any minute. Han Qing sat up with a straight face, got out of bed, wore his shoes and walked quietly without making a sound.

Knock, knock—

The knocking still continued and the nearer Han Qing got to the door, the more he frowned. He could already guess who was knocking on the door. Han Qing quickly opened the door, for he was worried that Yan would be woken up if the knock continued.

Click! It was indeed an acquaintance standing at the door when he opened the door—Lin Qin’er.

Lin Qin’er was elated to see the handsome face that she was expecting. Just as she was about to step in, Han Qing acted quicker than her and closed the door, leaving only a gap. He looked at the person before him with a gloomy face. “Yes?”

Lin Qin’er froze for a moment as she never expected him to be so cold. She forgot the lines that she had been preparing for a long time and stammered, “I-I just wanted to see… if you have gotten up…”

“No,” Han Qing answered in a cold voice. “You can go now.”

Bang! He closed the door right after finishing his sentence.

She had wanted to take a step forward, but the door almost slammed on her face. Anger flashed past Lin Qin’er’s face. She had woken up early, got changed and dolled herself up just to make this man look at her yet he was so cold toward her! Just as she was enraged and felt like banging on the door, the door opened again. She quickly held back her anger and wore her best smile.

“Don’t knock on the door if there are no important matters. It’s rest time in the morning.”

Bang! Poor Lin Qin’er. She barely had the time to put on her best smile and Han Qing closed the door once again after finishing his sentence. She stood there and stared at the door for some time before her face twisted, close to being unable to restrain her anger with the desire of wanting to hit the door.

This was her first time encountering such a difficult, impolite and uncompassionate man! She was pissed off! Why? I’ve already dolled myself up, so why won’t that man take another look at me? Am I worse than that wench who doesn’t have anything? Her face was filled with anger as she turned around and left in dissatisfaction.

Back in the room, Han Qing thought the woman wouldn’t cross her boundaries after he closed the door. If she had the nerve to knock again, he wouldn’t be kind toward her. Just as he walked back and was about to rest for a bit, he saw Yan sitting up and rubbing her eyes as she asked, “I thought I heard someone knocking on the door? Who is it?”

Her voice was still a little coquettish from sleepiness and her eyes were squinting. She couldn’t open her eyes and it was clear that she was still sleepy.

“You heard it wrong,” Han Qing lied without skipping a heart beat.

Heard it wrong? Confusion flashed past Yan’s eyes. Did I really hear it wrong? But I clearly heard someone knocking. Just as Yan was wondering, Han Qing had already taken off his shoes and now sat on the edge of the bed.
