The woman moved her hands away gradually from her face after Yan helped her to stand up. Yan turned pale in shock when she realized that the woman’s forehead was bleeding. Oh, my God! How hard did that man hit her? How could he violently beat his wife up?
Yan was blinded by anger and she whipped her phone out. “I’ll call the police for you.” This is domestic abuse. Domestic abuse is against the law!
However, just when Yan wanted to call the police, the man, who was held down by Han Qing, lost his temper. The man’s face suddenly became twisted and he charged at Yan while cursing at her, “Who do you think you are? You b*tch! What does beating my woman have anything to do with you? I’ll kill you if you dare to call the police—argh!”
Before he could complete his sentence, there was a sickening crack—Han Qing had dislocated the man’s arm as the latter screamed in pain while breaking out in cold sweat.
Han Qing’s face darkened. “Why don’t you try speaking in that type of language again?” His voice was quiet, but his tone was icy-cold and it sent chills down the abusive man’s spine.
The abusive man was obviously upset about the situation, but he lacked the courage to act recklessly after Han Qing effortlessly dislocated his arm. Besides, Han Qing radiated a chilly and intimidating aura.
Yan was shocked as well because she never expected such hostility from the violent man. Hence, she was even more determined to phone the police. She glared at the man in disdain. “Domestic violence is against the law. She’s a person—just as how she is your wife. She has rights!” With that, Yan swiftly dialed 911. However, before Yan could make the call, the woman who had been beaten up charged towards the former to cling onto her hand. “Don’t call the police, I’m begging you… Please, don’t call the police…” she wailed.
Yan was stunned to silence and she stared at the women in bewilderment. “You…”
The abusive man, who gasped in pain earlier, smirked when he saw his wife’s actions. “I advise you both not to meddle in other people’s businesses. This wench did something that she’s ashamed of. Are you planning to call the police? I’m sure she’s even more afraid than I am!”
“Shut up! You better shut up! I did not do anything shameful!” The woman glared at him vehemently before turning to Yan. Tears kept rolling down her cheeks when she spoke to Yan, “I’m very grateful for your help. However, can you please not call the police? If you call the police, I’d be… beaten up even worse in the future.”
Yan paused while regarding the woman helplessly. “Do you think he would stop hitting you if I don’t call the police?”

Yan wrinkled her nose while staring at the woman.
“You will regret it if you take her with you.”
Yan wasn’t sure whether it was her illusion or not, but she noticed that the abusive man glanced at Han Qing distractedly. There was a strange kind of emotion in the abusive man’s eyes, but Yan couldn’t pinpoint what it was. Just when Yan tried to look closer, the woman screamed behind her and fainted, collapsing against Yan.
In the end, Yan called the police as well as an ambulance. The police arrested the abusive man’s whereas Yan accompanied the woman, who had passed out, to the nearest doctor.
The woman was severely injured. Yan stayed by her side as the doctor treated her injuries. She stared at the horrible wounds across the woman’s body—there were even injuries in her private parts… The woman was heavily scarred. It is clear that… the abusive man isn’t just involved in domestic violence. In fact, he is sexually abusive toward his wife and in their marital affairs. I can’t help but pity this woman in front of me. She is too pitiful.
After treating the woman’s wounds, the doctor shook her head at Yan. “There are too many wounds all over her body. Apart from these new injuries, she has countless old wounds and scars. Besides, these injuries were recently inflicted. How did she even survive that sort of environment?”
Yan trembled in horror when she heard that. How did she manage to live with such a temperamental man?
Han Qing followed the police to make a report since the police took the abusive man away with them. After all, he was a witness at the scene. Yan waited in the ward since he hadn’t returned.
The woman Yan saved regained consciousness eventually. Yan smiled at her. “Are you finally awake?”
The woman glanced at Yan before scanning the room automatically. “Are you alone?” she asked.
That was an odd question, but Yan did not overthink. She assumed that the woman was worried that the abusive man was still around, so she explained, “Yes, I’m alone. The doctor just treated your wounds. Besides… I called the police in the end.”
