Facing Luo Huimei’s question, Xiao Su replied respectfully, and both of them chatted for a while.
While pouring out tea for him, Luo Huimei asked, “Didn’t you just return? Why didn’t you rest more before coming here?”
Xiao Su thought about something and answered earnestly, “I’m already well-rested. That’s why I’m here now.”
Well-rested? Luo Huimei arched her brows. Seeing his battered look, she figured it was quite impossible that he had rested. Even young girls wouldn’t believe his words, let alone Luo Huimei, who was almost half a century old.
However, since Xiao Su’s reply was quite respectful, Luo Huimei didn’t point it out directly. “It’s good to hear that you have had enough rest. Look at how busy you are! He didn’t mention anything about Yan’s relationship.
Luo Huimei knew that he had heard her, but she didn’t know what his thoughts were about it. She merely looked at him taking a few cups of tea in one go.
On the other hand, Yan, who was outside, didn’t know that Luo Huimei had already done this without her knowledge, so she was frowning over the best way to let Xiao Su know. After thinking about it, Yan decided to go straight to the point and be more open about it. After knowing that Han Qing and I are together now, Xiao Su probably would give up.

“Thanks for your tea, madam. In that case, I shall go back first, and I’ll visit you again when I have the time.”

The atmosphere between both of them became awkward. Yan didn’t know what to say to him, and she was embarrassed to urge him to leave, so she just stood next to him.
As the breeze gently blew on their faces, the short hair above Xiao Su’s forehead was gently lifted before it landed back down, as if nothing had happened.
Apart from himself, no one else noticed that his hand that wanted to take the present out had fallen to the side of his body helplessly.
He wanted to give it to her with no thoughts of getting a reply from her. However, at this moment, even if he wanted to give it to her—even if Yan accepted it—he figured it would just place more pressure on her.
Hence, Xiao Su gave up on that.

This was his first time buying a present for a woman.
