Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1163

Luo Huimei was a mother first before she was a supporter of Yan’s relationships. If the other party was interested in her daughter, then they can put aside all their prejudices, family objections, and whatnot; it was fine as long as they were happy. However, since she learned of this matter, how many times had Yan cried over it? She had watched over her all this while, but now…

“Mom, please don’t ask any questions for now. If I get any results, I will let you know.” Yan had felt the change in Han Qing, but she wasn’t certain. After all, he had not said anything outrightly, and she did not dare to ask. Over the past few days, he sent her a message at the same time every day, asking her about how she was doing—almost like a boyfriend showing concern toward his girlfriend. Still, she was probably a fool; even now, she did not dare to ask what he meant by the kiss.

Her frustrations were growing; the more she thought about it, the more annoyed she got. So, she decided to go out for a breath of fresh air. It was just the right occasion to visit Han Muzi, who was at home expecting childbirth. She had agreed on a time with Little Bean. Coincidentally, Ye Moxuan was not in the villa, so her visit would help relieve some of Han Muzi’s boredom.

“Alright, you have your own way of thinking and problem solving, so just follow your heart. Neither your mom nor your dad is the unreasonable type. Besides, after your dad was involved in the accident, he is eager to see you achieve happiness. Even if you decide to walk through mud, as long as you smiled as you did so, he would not stop you.”

Yan did not respond.

“Go on, go on. Go visit him, but take care of yourself.”

“I’m not going…” Forget it. She could not be bothered to explain again; Luo Huimei would not listen anyway.

Yan got herself ready, then she left the house. It had been a long time since the two of them had seen each other—the last time was when the shop was newly opened. Han Muzi had only gone there once. After all, her belly had gradually gotten bigger and bigger after that, so it was no longer convenient for her to visit.

The moment Han Muzi saw Yan, she could not stop her bitter outburst. “When I was abroad last time, he was not there beside me, and my pregnancy wasn’t as difficult as it is now. I wonder what is the matter with me now; I feel like I’ve turned into a ball of tantrums. Yan, don’t tell me it’s because I’m pregnant with a girl that I’m feeling so delicate?”

Yan was aware that Han Muzi was pregnant with a girl. When Han Muzi learned that she was carrying a girl, everyone was happy to hear the news. After all, they already had Little Bean, so a girl would complete the pair.

Han Muzi herself was very happy with the news of a daughter—so much so that she had already picked out a name for her.

“I guess a girl would be more temperamental? It’ll be fine; you’re going to give birth soon anyway. After that, you’ll have a son and a daughter; isn’t that great?”

At first, Han Muzi was annoyed with her own affairs. However, when she heard Yan’s envious tone, she could not help but sneak a glance at her. Little Bean was her flesh and blood, so how could he keep Yan’s affairs from her? She had already heard about the recent events between Han Qing and Yan from Little Bean.

Looking at Yan, a smile unwittingly lifted at the corners of Han Muzi’s mouth. Isn’t fate amazing? You might think that it had been broken, but it had reconnected at an unknown point in time—just like how it was between Yan and Han Qing.

“What about you? I already have a son and a daughter. You need to buck up and work harder! Hopefully, by the time I give birth, you will have good news too.”

Yan’s face flushed red suddenly, refusing to reveal anything in front of Han Muzi. “D-Don’t tease me; nothing is happening between Han Qing and me yet.”

Han Muzi laughed her head off. “I didn’t even mention who it was, so why are you shooting yourself in the foot?”

“Muzi!” Yan stomped her feet anxiously while her face and ears flushed red. “Did Little Bean tell you? He’s talking nonsense! The incident happened a while back…”

“Is it really nonsense? Are you not going to work for it?”

Yan hesitated. “I… want to.”

“Then do it! I think my brother… has started to show interest.”

Hearing those words, Yan’s heart started pumping wildly suddenly. Is he interested? It’s not my imagination?

Han Muzi came closer all of a sudden, blinking her eyes. “Has he taken the initiative to kiss you yet?”

Yan was so shocked that she couldn’t say a word; her face was blushing beet-red.

“I guess he has.”

“N-N-No…” She was so nervous she started stammering; her tongue was tied in knots. After struggling for a while, she lowered her head and accepted her fate.

“Fine, we kissed. However, that doesn’t mean he likes me… Maybe he was just trying to comfort me.”

Han Muzi could not understand. “Comfort you?”

Thus, Yan recounted all the events that happened the other night. After listening to the entire story, Han Muzi became very upset. “How big-hearted are you? Do you think my brother is the kind of man who would do something like that to comfort you? Think about it carefully; if it were you, would you randomly kiss another person to comfort them? Feelings are not a charity. I know best what kind of personalities you both have. If you are not certain, why don’t you test him? Or, force him to admit it.”

Force? Force Han Qing to admit that he likes me? How do I do that?

Han Muzi smiled. “It’s simple; you just need to deliberately act indifferent when he comes looking for you. Then, you have to see how he reacts. Or, you can subtly hint that you are tired and that you won’t take the initiative anymore.”

Yan said nothing. What kind of strange idea is that? I have to deliberately act indifferent in front of Han Qing and his cold personality? However, after considering it, it seemed like a valid idea. When she had acted coldly toward him before, he waited for her outside her shop for the entire day. Perhaps, he really likes being tortured like this?

While she was mulling over it, a knock on the door sounded. “Aunt Yan!” Little Bean ran over to hug her leg when he saw her. “I invited Uncle Qing over for you!”

She was dumbstruck. Han Qing is coming here? Then, she stammered, “Y-You didn’t use my name when you did that, did you?”

He shook his head. “I used Mommy’s name to do so. You should join us for lunch, Aunt Yan.”

Han Muzi and Little Bean shared the same goal regarding the matter involving Han Qing and Yan. Therefore, they spared no effort to create chances to match the two of them together.

As he had been busy with work at the company, Han Qing got stuck and came late. By the time he arrived, the dishes were on the table. The moment he stepped in the door, he saw a familiar figure sitting in the room, fidgeting nervously. He paused, then returned to normal in the next moment.

“Oh, you’re here, Uncle Qing!” Little Bean ran over to hug him. Then, Han Qing picked him up easily, walked over to the dining table, and explained in an indifferent tone, “I rushed over the moment I finished work. Have you been waiting long?”

Han Muzi sat there, in all her pregnant glory, as she replied, “Nope, we just sat down.”

Yan, standing by the side, was playing dead. Pretending that she couldn’t hear a thing, she lowered her head and said nothing. Han Muzi looked at her exasperatedly. Can I count on her to test him if she is acting like this?
