Shen Qi lowered her gaze without noticing Ye Moxuan’s expression. The only thing she was aware of was the anger in his tone.

After all, who would want their assistant to fight with other company staff, causing a commotion in the canteen?
She heard the wheels moving, and a pair of long legs came within Shen Qi’s sight. Before she could respond, someone pulled against her waist, and she fell into an embrace.
Shen Qi couldn’t help but stare wide-eyed in shock.
Ye Moxuan actually rolled his wheelchair to her front and pulled her into his arms.
Just as she was stunned to silence, Ye Moxuan pinched her chin upward to force her to look up into his cold and intimidating eyes.
“Do you know the reason I am angry?”

There were a few scratches on Shen Qi’s fair face, and from Ye Moxuan’s point of view, it felt as if he was stabbed in his heart.

She did not plan to fight with others; in fact, she just lost her temper.
She heard him sigh, and his hand which was pinching her chin shifted and held the back of her head before pressing it against his chest. Then Shen Qi leaned against Ye Moxuan’s chest in bewilderment.

Just when she was pondering, Ye Moxuan’s chest rumbled while he started speaking. “I will—”
Knock-knock-knock…
At that moment, someone knocked on the office door.
“Young Master Ye, the doctor is here!”
Xiao Su’s voice came from outside of the office.
Shen Qi looked up at Ye Moxuan the moment she heard that, and his complicated gaze met her eyes. “Get up. Let the doctor check if you’ve sustained any injuries.”
With that, he helped her up gently.
Shen Qi stood up naturally with his help.
“Come in.”
Xiao Su then opened the door and led the doctor in.
It was a female doctor, and Ye Moxuan allowed both of them to enter the lounge.
Shen Qi entered the lounge next door with the female doctor, who was a woman in her forties. She appeared rather gentle, and she had a smiling and kind face. “Miss Shen, please take your clothes off and allow me to check on your injuries.”
Shen Qi nodded obediently, but just as she was about to take off her clothes, she seemed to have thought of something and froze mid-air.

The female doctor smiled at her faintly before moving away. “Alright, now. Your wounds are attended, and this is some ointment for the burn. Remember to apply it twice a day. Then use this after the wound is healed.”
Shen Qi accepted two different ointments.
“What is this other one?”
“It’s to lighten the scar. It’s not nice to have scars on girls, since it’s so ugly.”
“Thank you.”
After that, Shen Qi was deep in her thoughts while holding onto the two ointments in her hands.
If Xiao Su hadn’t knocked on the door earlier, he wouldn’t have cut Ye Moxuan off mid-sentence when she was in his arms.
