Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1144

Blind date. Han Qing tightened his fist that was under the table before he brought the teacup to his mouth and took a quick sip. Seeing this, Little Bean was befuddled; he did not understand what Aunt Yan was up to. Doesn’t she like Uncle Qing? Why did she still want to go on a blind date?

Since he was not in a position to say anything, he decided to begin eating silently. Even though he did not come here for the food, all the food on the table would go to waste if no one ate them. Nevertheless, he was still frightened by the way Uncle Qing stared at him earlier when he saw all the food displayed on the table.

While Little Bean was busy eating, the three adults were all deep in thought. Hearing what Yan said about himself, Li Sihan appeared to be particularly aggressive in helping her to the food, making sure that she had enough to eat.

Yan was speechless as she saw this. However, she was annoyed that he was using his chopsticks to pick dishes for her as they had serving chopsticks on the table. Am I shooting myself in the foot? As much as she was reluctant to eat it, she felt it would be a shame if she did not. But she simply did not want to eat anything that had another man’s saliva… It’s disgusting.

When Yan was contemplating this, Little Bean suddenly lifted his head. “Mr. Li, we have serving chopsticks on the table. Why are you using your chopsticks to take food for Aunt Yan?”

Li Sihan explained with a smiley face, “Don’t worry about it. Since Aunt Yan and I are getting married soon, it doesn’t matter if we use the same pair of chopsticks.”

Han Qing responded blandly, “It wouldn’t matter for you two if you’re getting married, but what about other people?”

“Sorry?”

Han Qing pointed to the dishes on the table with his eyes.

“You two are getting married, but we’re in no way related to any of you. Would you be willing to feed on some stranger’s saliva?”

Li Sihan was taken aback by these words. He would never be bothered by this matter before whenever he was with his friends. But now that they were in a five-star hotel, it would seem unfitting for him to ignore this etiquette.

“That’s right, Mr. Li. That’s not very hygienic.” Little Bean took this opportunity to add to it as he was able to tell what Uncle Qing was trying to get at. As much as Uncle Qing looked calm on the outside, his words earlier were targeted at this blind date of Aunt Yan. I can’t miss out on this opportunity.

After hearing what Han Qing said, Yan, who did not plan on eating the food in her bowl that was given by Li Sihan, decided to do something in response. Otherwise, she would appear to dislike Li Sihan. So, she let out a smile and lifted her head, shooting a look at Han Qing and Little Bean. “It’s fine then. If you guys mind, we can split the table and dishes.”

Little Bean quickly responded, “No, Aunt Yan. I love these.”

Yan stared at Little Bean, feeling annoyed. He’s such a foodie. Not being able to reject his request, she responded nicely, “What I meant was that I don’t mind, and Li Sihan didn’t mean to do that—it just slipped his mind. How about this; if we separate the food that he’s touched with his chopsticks, you guys won’t have to touch them then.”

“Huh? Aunt Yan, are you going to touch the food that has his saliva?”

Hearing that, Yan did not know what to say as she began to feel disgusted. We came here to eat; why did things have to turn out this way? As much as she was also disgusted by what Li Sihan did, she could not shoot herself in the foot. At this juncture, she smiled gently. “I’m fine with it. We’re getting married soon anyway.”

“Yan, thank you for not thinking about me in that way.”

As Yan picked up her chopsticks and was about to dig in, Han Qing put his teacup down on the table loudly. The loud noise attracted everyone’s attention.

“Waiter!” he yelled in a callous voice.

The waiter quickly arrived.

“Take away every dish that has been touched and serve the same ones again,” Han Qing instructed coldly.

The server was stunned before realizing what happened and began to take the dishes away. Staring at the full bowl in front of Yan, he then instructed, “Take the one in front of her too.”

Li Sihan was embarrassed. Finally, Yan could no longer take it. She threw her chopsticks at the table. “What’s the meaning of this?”

Looking indifferent and unemotional, Han Qing gently lifted his eyes and raised his eyebrows. “Nothing much. I just can’t stand people that don’t care about hygiene.”

He rarely spoke like that. Yan was annoyed by the fact that these words were unashamedly directed at her blind date.

After he had relentlessly left her, he showed up at this very moment just to insult her blind date. Is there anything wrong with me meeting someone else? Yan was agitated and responded sarcastically, “I’ve told you that you didn’t have to sit with us if you think we’re not being hygienic. Heck! You shouldn’t even eat with us in the same cubicle then. Who knows? Maybe you feel that the air you’re breathing right now isn’t clean either?”

Little Bean was shocked as he heard this. Oh no! Why did they start fighting?

The atmosphere turned intense, and even Li Sihan was surprised by Yan’s reaction. It puzzled him as he wondered why she had to go to this extent even if she was mad.

The server who was standing next to them was bemused. He continued standing there awkwardly, not knowing whether to carry out Han Qing’s instruction or not. In the end, he turned to look at Han Qing. “Sir, what should I do?”

Han Qing responded nonchalantly, “Please carry on.”

No matter how upset Yan was, she could only watch the server take her food away. The more she stared at Han Qing, the more her blood boiled. On the other hand, he ignored her outburst of anger. He even refused to argue with her. He must be really unhappy right now. But… is he unhappy that I’m here? Right. If it wasn’t because of Little Bean, he wouldn’t have come.

Tired of fighting back, Yan fell back in her chair. Soon enough, the server finished replenishing the dishes on the table. At this moment, Li Sihan looked terrified as he had the feeling that he might need to spend more money today. He nibbled his dry lips and asked, “Do we have to pay extra for these new dishes?”

The server looked at him, stunned, and proceeded to nod his head. “Of course.”

Hearing that, Li Sihan looked mortified. Ever since what happened earlier, he felt that he did not need to be polite anymore. So, he followed up, “Could you issue a separate check that’s on him? He was the one that wanted all these dishes to be served again; it has nothing to do with us.”

Surprised, the server turned to look at Han Qing and walked away after the latter nodded.

Yan was clenching her fists tightly under the table. She supposed Han Qing would now look down on Li Sihan even more after he said that. Then, she turned to look at Li Sihan after a moment of silence.

“No worries. Let him do whatever he likes as this meal’s on me. Today, we’re here to treat Little Bean to a meal; it has nothing to do with him.”

Li Sihan was startled as he heard this, but he eventually nodded his head as it was Yan who was going to pay the check.
