This sudden question stunned Su Jiu, but she soon made sense of the situation—Yan, who was supposed to show up today with the food, did not come. “No.”
She shook her head as she thought, Lately, Yan has always come every day at the same time. Not only Han Qing, but even I, his secretary, am used to it. Therefore, when Han Qing told me to postpone the meeting, I thought that he did it on purpose for that young lady, Yan. That girl was merely absent for a day and Secretary Su personally came down to ask the receptionist about Yan. This proved the significance of Yan’s identity and status. If that girl was just an ordinary food delivery girl, it would be impossible for Secretary Su to personally come and ask.
“I-I am not very sure. She usually comes here, but why didn’t she come today…”
Upon seeing the receptionist speak with hesitation and avoiding eye contact, a shrewd person like Su Jiu immediately sensed that something was wrong, so she narrowed her eyes and stared at the former. “What’s wrong with you?”
When the receptionist heard Su Jiu’s question, her expression changed. “Nothing.”
“Nothing? Then, why are you so nervous?”

When I said that there is a word on your face, I meant your facial expression. Besides, you spoke vaguely, which is obvious that you are hiding something. Tell me, what exactly happened? Do you know anything?”
The receptionist shook her head and adamantly said no.
“Alright. It’s fine if you don’t tell me now, but if I find out—”
The receptionist immediately interrupted. “It has nothing to do with me. It was them who said that they wanted to see who the person who makes delivery for President Han every day is. They insisted on coming over and there is nothing that I could have done, so…”
I never thought that she would spill everything out so fast. Su Jiu couldn’t help but raise her eyebrow. “So, you guys bullied her and scared her to the point where she is scared to come today?”

Lately, Yan had been coming quite often, so it indeed would arouse the jealousy of others.
“She is just someone who makes delivery. If nobody had spread gossip, there wouldn’t have been many people knowing about this. You are here to work, not gossip. It will be useless to pretend to be innocent if something happens.” At this point, Su Jiu’s gaze turned sharp and her tone was colder. “Han Group needs capable people. If something like this happens again, then… you may make your way to the Human Resource Department to tender your resignation.”
