With that, Han Muzi ran straight out of the ward.
Ye Moxuan remained silent on the bed while waiting for his water. When the doctor came in later, he was taken aback by the fact that Ye Moxuan had woken up before the former gave him a thorough inspection. He left after making sure that there weren’t any problems with Ye Moxuan.
After he was gone, Han Muzi served Ye Moxuan a glass of warm water before helping him to sit up. “Drink some water.”
Ye Moxuan was still motionless as he stared straight into her. His eyes were devoid of emotions and Han Muzi was a little embarrassed by him. “What are you doing?” she asked.
He then pressed his lips as he tried to reason with her, but his voice cracked when it first came out. Therefore, he furrowed his brows even more while drinking the water helplessly to clear his throat.
At this moment, Han Muzi took out her phone to inform everyone that Ye Moxuan was awake. For convenience’s sake, she added everyone whom she knew into a WeChat group so that she could directly message all of them about the news. After that, she decided to post on her WeChat moments, but her phone was suddenly taken away by Ye Moxuan. “I have just woken up and you are facing your phone instead of me.”
Han Muzi raised her head in shock before biting her lower lip gently and shaking her head. “It’s not like that. While you were unconscious, everyone was very worried about you. Now that you are awake, I need to inform them about the good news.”
“And now you’re done.” He shoved her phone under the pillow. It was obvious that he didn’t want her to touch her phone again.
She didn’t know what he tried to do, but after realizing that he only wanted her to stop looking at her phone, she never resisted him. Later, she said to him, “The doctor has given you a thorough check just now. Is there anywhere that you are feeling uncomfortable? Or do you want to continue drinking some water? Are you hungry? Why don’t I make a call to…” Her questions continued coming, and all of it were her concerns about his well-being.
All of a sudden, Ye Moxuan grabbed her wrist and pulled her straight into his arms. After falling into his embrace, she lifted her eyes to look at him. “What are you doing?”
Ye Moxuan squeezed her chin while his eyes revealed a dangerous intent. “Who was the one who said she did not want me anymore earlier?”
Han Muzi blinked her eyes and looked at him with a blank expression, feeling completely lost. This is the third time he has asked me about this. It looks like he has really taken this question to heart. I couldn’t dodge it the first two times, so I seems that there’s no point for me to play dumb now.
“Huh?” Ye Moxuan asked again after she remained silent. This time, his tone was heavier as if he wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Han Muzi stayed quiet before replying a while later, “Alright. I am the one who said it, but I was just trying to see if those words would trigger you because you just would not wake up. Now that I have said it, you are finally awake. Is that not quite nice?”
He squinted his murderous eyes. “Quite nice?”
“What I mean is that it is nice that you woke up. As for what I have said… I did all of it just to wake you up. If I really did not want you, why would I stay by your side until now?”
Listening to her, Ye Moxuan was stunned. Yes, how could she abandon me? Even when I had an accident or when I was missing and nobody knew whether I was alive or not, she always took the burden alone. She even did the same thing after finding me and realizing that I lost my memory. Thinking about this, he slowly approached her while blowing his warm breath all over her face.
When he was getting closer, Han Muzi widened her eyes instinctively before pushing him away. “You have just woken up and you are a patient. Do not mess around!” she shouted.
As she finished, Ye Moxuan leaned over to hug her while she froze in shock. She felt that his arms around her waist had tightened, but he loosened his arms as if he thought of something. “Even if you really do not want me anymore, I would not let you leave me. You are mine in this life.” While saying those words, his tone was filled with seriousness. Han Muzi twitched her lips as if she tried to say something, but she also felt that it was better for her to remain silent before a smile slowly crossed her lips.
The two of them stayed in the ward quietly while hugging each other—both enjoyed their time together alone. Suddenly, a ringtone pierced the silence and the two of them stopped. It came from the phone that Ye Moxuan placed under the pillow. He wasn’t satisfied enough with hugging Han Muzi, so he immediately furrowed his brows when the phone disturbed them. Then, he silenced the phone before throwing it under the pillow before continuing to hug her.
At first, Han Muzi remained silent. “Is it alright to ignore that call?” she gently reminded him.
“What is the problem with it? Did you not already inform them that I have woken up?” Ye Moxuan whispered, “You have already sent the message and you do not need to do it twice.”
His argument seemed reasonable, so there was no way for her to refute him.
Song An was the first one to rush to the hospital. She was also the first one to call Han Muzi, but the former panicked after a few unanswered calls. Didn’t he just wake up? Why isn’t she answering the call now? Therefore, she immediately left the old man and rushed straight to the hospital on her own. However, she was surprised to see Ye Moxuan and Han Muzi hugging each other the moment she pushed open the door. The scene was calm and beautiful. Could it be that she didn’t answer the call because they were hugging each other until now?
Song An felt like she was being exposed to their public display of affection. “Hey! Hey! Hey! Are you two done with hugging?”
Even though she knew that it was inappropriate for her to interrupt them, she still knocked on the door to check on the husband and wife who were immersed in their own world. Actually, Ye Moxuan saw her coming from the start, but he had a thick skin and chose to ignore her.
After hearing Song An’s voice, Han Muzi immediately pushed Ye Moxuan away in shock. Han Muzi turned her flushed face toward Song An. “A-Aunty…”
Song An walked over slowly in her high heels. “How do you feel after just waking up?”
Ye Moxuan glared at her before retracting his eyes. Then, he stared at Han Muzi again, and this time, his eyes were stuck on her.
Song An couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the scene. “I said enough. Why are you this clingy after just waking up?”
Even though he was upset with her cutting him off, she was still his elder. Not only that, Han Muzi’s face had already turned fully red, so he became more serious and told her, “I’m fine now. I should be able to be discharged from the hospital today.”
“Discharge from the hospital? Are you kidding me? You have been in a coma for a few days, and you want to discharge today? What if you have another problem?”
Ye Moxuan frowned his eyebrows after hearing her words. It was obvious that he didn’t want to stay in the hospital and it was probably because he felt uncomfortable staying here after lying on the bed for so many days.
Then, Han Muzi quickly spoke up, “Why don’t we ask the doctor later? If he agrees, then we can be discharged early. After that, we can just come back for regular checkups.” Since he doesn’t like to be here, I’ll try my best to appease him. He is a patient after all. Han Muzi was really worried that something would happen to him again. What if he passes out again?
