Fortunately, Han Muzi returned shortly after. When they saw Muzi, Yan and Little Bean looked like tadpoles who found their mother. They quickly went up to her and clung to her.
“Muzi.”
“Mommy.”
After going to the bathroom to wash her face and calm herself down, Han Muzi did not expect to come out seeing Yan and Little Bean. She was stunned for a moment but quickly pulled herself back together. Yan’s arrival was completely unexpected. Although she wanted to tag along earlier, Muzi had stopped her. Who knew she would still come?
“Your new shop just opened today. Is it okay for you to just come running here like this?”
Yan frowned and sounded unhappy. “Muzi. Stop worrying about the shop. That’s not important right now.”
Han Muzi smiled faintly. “How is it not important? It wouldn’t be so bad if it was a regular day, but today is—”
“Okay, enough. If something happens to the shop, I can always deal with it later. But you’re alone. How can I not come over to see you after what happened? We already know Young Master Ye’s condition. I’ll sit with you over there for a while.” Yan pointed to the seats at the side. Han Muzi nodded without resisting.
The three of them sat down. Perhaps it was their lucky day. Little Bean was extra obedient and quiet. Other than hugging his mother’s arm and comforting her, he did not say anything else. With the two men standing at a side and the three of them sitting down, the atmosphere quickly became quiet again. They did not know when Ye Moxuan would wake up, nor what to do next. But, leaving was definitely not an option for any of them. Just like that, each second and each minute ticked by.
They sat around as the temperature dropped even more. Yan was feeling cold but she did not dare to show it. After all, she was most worried about Muzi. She’s pregnant. Yan started, “Muzi. How about—”
“You don’t need to bring it up or say anything. I’m not going back.”
“No, you’ve misunderstood.” Yan smiled. “I’m not telling you to go home. How would I not know you after all these years? I wanted to say; since Young Master Ye still has to stay here after his observation, why don’t we book a room next to his? There’s a bed in the hospital room so you can sleep for the night.”
“I think that’s a good idea, Young Lady Ye. Your body is weak. Plus, it’s currently the coldest time. It’s not night yet so it will get even colder later. If something happens to you and Young Master Ye wakes up, it’d be tough for us to inform him.”
That is true. The temperature in the corridor is indeed low. I’m afraid that it’ll get even colder as we go into the night. I can bear it but the baby inside my belly can’t. Yan and Little Bean are also here. I can’t let the three of them suffer with me.
Han Muzi nodded. “Okay, then. Let’s do that.”
It was a private room because they wanted a VIP room. The interior was decorated nicely. There was air conditioning and hot water too. But nobody brought a fresh change of clothes, so they did not bother to shower. When Han Muzi entered the room, she looked back at Xiao Su and Han Qing.
Han Qing and Xiao Su looked at each other, then said, “We’ll keep watch throughout the night. You can rest comfortably.”
She nodded her head finally and looked at them with a look of gratitude.
“I’ll bring a blanket over for you guys later.” Yan naturally followed Han Muzi into the hospital room.
When they were gone, Xiao Su said, “You still have to go to work tomorrow, President Han. Leave this to me.”
“It’s fine,” Han Qing replied nonchalantly.
Xiao Su glanced at him and did not say anything in the end. Then, the two men put up with keeping watch for the night.
In the hospital room, the three of them had lain down but they had not fallen asleep. Han Muzi was worried about Ye Moxuan. She covered herself with the blanket and had her eyes closed, but her mind and head were in chaos. She was tired, but whenever she fell asleep, she dreamt of Ye Moxuan lying in the emergency room and she quickly woke up again.
Little Bean was sleeping with Yan. He wanted to sleep with his mother. But after thinking about it, his mother was pregnant and he did not want to hurt her. Therefore, he decided to sleep with Aunt Yan instead. The lights were not turned off. The two of them lay facing each other, side by side. A pair of big eyes looked at a pair of small eyes.
After some time had passed, Yan suddenly reached out and cradled Little Bean’s head. She said in a low voice, “Hurry and sleep.”
Little Bean blinked and looked at her with an exceptionally innocent expression. He did not speak, but he did not close his eyes either. Yan looked in the direction where Han Muzi was and still felt slightly worried. Alas, she sighed helplessly on the inside. “Fine. If you don’t want to sleep, then don’t sleep. But if you get tired later, you have to sleep.” She could not fall asleep herself, much less Little Bean.
At that, Little Bean nodded his head in reply. The both of them stared at each other in silence. Suddenly, Yan heard a rustling sound. She turned to follow the sound and found that Han Muzi had gotten out of bed.
“Muzi?” Yan immediately turned over and got out of bed. “What is it? Is something wrong?”
Seeing Yan’s anxious state, Han Muzi explained, “I just remembered. Both of them will get cold in the corridor so I wanted to bring a blanket over for them.” Han Muzi gathered the blanket but Yan blocked her way. “You were already lying down, and you’re wearing so few layers. I’ll do it.”
“But—”
“You’re pregnant. You have to take care of yourself. It’s so cold outside. What will happen to the baby if you catch a cold? I’m not the same as you. I’ll go.” Yan snatched the blanket from Han Muzi’s hands then turned around as she urged Little Bean, “Little Bean, you have to look after your mommy, okay? Don’t let her run about.”
Han Muzi was baffled. Why is everyone treating me like a child since I got pregnant?
When Little Bean received this order, he immediately sat up and stared at Han Muzi. “You’re not allowed to go out, Mommy.”
Even though Han Muzi was having a hard time, the both of them inadvertently made her laugh.
In the corridor, Xiao Su and Han Qing were standing separately. Since Han Muzi and Yan left, they were still unable to find a place to sit. Yan was slightly astonished to see them when she came out. I know they’re men, but they’re also human. Aren’t they tired from standing for so long?
After being in the room for so long, it felt really cold outside. When a gust of cold wind passed, Yan instinctively shrank her neck back in. Just then, Xiao Su saw her and frowned. “Why are you out here?”
Yan gave a small smile and walked up to them. She said softly, “I came to give you guys a blanket. It’s freezing outside. Cover yourselves with this blanket if you feel cold. Don’t catch a cold.”
