Shen Qi stood before the mirror and stared at her reflection with her eyes widened in disbelief.
She didn’t know when it started, but there were green and purple bruises all over her fair neck.
Shen Qi had seen these marks before.
But it was just once.
It was the rainy night when she just got a divorce with Lin Jiangli, and her virginity was taken away by a stranger. She then hurriedly ran home and kept showering; that was when she saw those hickies on her neck.

Her mind went blank for a few seconds before she finally reacted. Her face turned white as she looked down and pulled her shirt open.
As expected, it wasn’t just her neck. Those marks were all over her body.

“Second Young Lady, what happened?” Madam Chen was shocked when she saw her suddenly falling onto the ground. She immediately put down what she was doing, ran toward her, and helped her up.
Shen Qi went back onto the bed with Madam Chen’s help, and her mind seemed to be muddled after she lay down. Suddenly, she grabbed Madam Chen’s hand as she remembered something important.
“Madam Chen, Madam Chen!”
“I’m here, Second Young Lady. What’s wrong?”
“Help me… Help me get the doctor!”
“Okay! Okay, I will get the doctor right away.” Madam Chen was frightened to see her face turning pale and didn’t dare to continue asking. She just hurried out of the ward and called a doctor.
The doctor hurried over and saw that Shen Qi was awake when he walked in. He was just putting on a smile when Shen Qi grabbed his collar and widened her eyes as she lay there.
She wanted to say something.
It was the same doctor as the last time, Dr. Sui.
Dr. Sui knew the complicated relationship between her and Ye Moxuan. Realizing that she was hesitating to speak, he turned around and told Madam Chen, “You must be her family member. Please wait outside while I check the patient.”
“Okay.” Madam Chen then left the ward.
Shen Qi grabbed the doctor’s shirt as her lips moved, but she couldn’t speak a word.
Dr. Sui could roughly guess what she wanted to say and therefore asked, “Miss Shen, are you trying to ask about the baby in your stomach?”
Hearing that, Shen Qi’s eyes widened, and her voice quivered. “Doctor, you knew?”
“Yeah.” Dr. Sui nodded and understood her worries as a mother. He then smiled and uttered, “Don’t worry. Your child is fine.”
Shen Qi was relieved to hear that the child was fine. The hand that was grabbing the corner of his shirt slowly relaxed as well.
“Thank you.”
“Anything else? Are you feeling any discomforts?” Since Dr. Sui was here, he might as well check on her. He bent down, grabbed her wrist, and felt her pulse. He then used the stethoscope to perform some regular checkups.
“Everything seems to be fine. Rest well, Miss Shen.”
Just as Dr. Sui was about to leave, they heard voices from the outside.
“Second Young Master, you are here.”
Ye Moxuan is here? Hearing his name, Shen Qi’s gaze changed, and she unconsciously shrunk under her blanket.
“Dr. Sui is checking on the Second Young Lady inside.”
Just then, the door was pushed open from the inside. Then Dr. Sui walked out and met Ye Moxuan’s gaze.
“Young Master Ye, the check up is done. Miss Shen is awake, and she is doing fine.”
“Okay.” Ye Moxuan nodded.
Shen Qi was hiding under her blanket as she listened to the noises outside. She was so frightened that she shuddered when she heard the sound of the wheelchair rolling.
What happened… yesterday night?

The door of the ward was shut, and all the other sounds disappeared. It was only the sound of the wheelchair moving left.
No one else was speaking, and Shen Qi was wondering if it was just Ye Moxuan who entered.
“What are you doing, hiding under the blanket?”
Shen Qi was still wondering when Ye Moxuan’s voice rang, startling her.
“Don’t dare to meet me, huh?”
Shen Qi didn’t know what to say.
She slowly pulled the blanket down and looked into Ye Moxuan’s eyes; what she saw stumped her.
Ye Moxuan’s handsome face was actually injured.
There were three long scratches on his handsome face, and it looked like a scratch from a cat’s paw. Besides, the corner of his lips were actually a little torn. If it wasn’t that his clothes were neat and tidy, Shen Qi would’ve thought that he got beaten up.
“What happened to your face?” Shen Qi asked instinctively.
Hearing that, Ye Moxuan paused while his long fingers gently ran across those scratches.
What’s wrong with my face? Ha, she even has the audacity to ask me that.
“What do you think?” Ye Moxuan asked her back.
Shen Qi was speechless.
How am I supposed to know?
Ye Moxuan’s eyes fell on her lower lips. Her lower lips were bitten by her yesterday night, and the doctor put on some ointment when she got to the hospital. Speaking of which, the wound on her lips recovered quite fast.
It was so quiet that it felt a little weird. Shen Qi then unconsciously bit her lips, but Ye Moxuan yelled, “Don’t move.”
Thus, Shen Qi just froze straight away. Ye Moxuan went forward and grabbed her chins. “Are you dumb? All you can do is bite your own lips when confronted?”
“I…” Shen Qi didn’t understand why he got so angry, and his gaze was so cold that it was frightening.
“Don’t you know that you’ve hurt your lips?” Ye Moxuan looked at her and spoked in a serious tone.
Shen Qi reached out and touched her own lips. It did feel a little painful. I didn’t feel anything when I was drinking the soup earlier, though. Was I too focused on other matters?
“Idiot!” Ye Moxuan scolded her.
Shen Qi found Ye Moxuan’s attitude weird. Although he was still fierce and was still scolding her, his tone… seemed to be much more gentle than before.
Is it my imagination?
Realizing that she was spacing out, Ye Moxuan unconsciously got more gentle with his movement. When he saw the purple bruises on her neck, satisfaction and pleasure flashed passed his eyes.
When he recalled how she hugged his neck lovingly, pleading him to go gentler….Ye Moxuan felt as if there were a little kitten scratching his heart.
His fingers slowly moved toward her neck unconsciously, and his warm fingers caressed the marks on her neck.
Shen Qi felt itchy and instinctively dodged from his touch.
She came back to her senses and remembered what was on her neck. Then her expression changed, and she jolted backward.
“Don’t touch me!”
