Chapter 223 Resignation.
There, Christina was pulled into bed by a sudden force.
Blinking her dreamy eyes accentuated her long eyelashes. Faced with Nathaniel’s seemingly angry expression, she asked curiously, “What’s wrong with you?”
“Stop spending time with Bailey going forward!” Nathaniel ordered in a domineering tone.
“Isn’t that unreasonable of you? Bailey is my friend.” Christina didn’t understand what had gotten into him. Isn’t he getting carried away with his jealousy?
Nathaniel cursed in his mind. Bailey is so good at acting that Christina failed to see through her charade.
“She likes women, so just stay away from her.”
The reason for Nathaniel’s jealous expression quickly dawned upon Christina. “You’ve got the wrong idea. She said that just to avoid being put on blind dates by her mother. She’s actually straight and had a boyfriend before.”
Despite being surprised by the revelation, Nathaniel maintained a skeptical look.
Christina subsequently wrapped her slender arms around Nathaniel’s muscular neck and gently pulled him toward her.
On top of his cool demeanor and exquisite features, Nathaniel exuded an air of masculinity.
Her heart would flutter every time she made contact with his skin.
“Mr. Hadley, since when have you become jealous of a woman?”
Narrowing his eyes, Nathaniel felt as if Christina looked like a cunning fox when she tried to tease him. “I don’t like others touching my possession.”
Amused by his domineering response, Christina felt a sense of warmth well up within her.
When she raised her head to kiss him, the taste of his lips caused her heart to throb and lose her rationality.
A pa*sionate atmosphere descended upon the room as their voices faded away amidst the silvery light.
Meanwhile, the police arrived at Shelley’s home before she received news from the leader of the hoodlums.
After receiving a report that the hoodlums were paid off to hurt Christina, they were there to arrest Shelley for further investigations.
Shelley’s heart sank into a bottomless abyss, whereas her mind drew nothing but a blank.
How did this happen? They promised me that they would teach Christina a lesson after taking my money.
“What has them beating up someone got anything to do with me?”
The police obviously had enough evidence to arrest her. “With regards to the previous case which we stayed our hand, Mrs. Hadley wants us to bring the perpetrator to justice now. The Hadley family isn’t the only one that wants to sue you. The Cook family wants to hold you responsible too, so please cooperate

with us!”
Cognizant of how deep in trouble she was in, Shelley collapsed onto the ground with her face losing all
color.
She began to cry helplessly as despair overwhelmed her.
Upon hearing the news, Alexander Jansson and his wife rushed home at once. They hurried over when they saw the police take Shelley away “My daughter is an obedient girl and is incapable of harming anyone. You must’ve made a mistake!”
“Please step aside. We’re just carrying out our duty.”
With no time to waste, the police led Shelley away despite her repeated denials that she wasn’t the mastermind.
Alexander and his wife were visibly distraught when they saw how pitifully Shelley was crying.
“Don’t worry, Shelley. I’ll think of a way to get you out.”
After being ushered into the police car, Shelley trembled all over.
I hate Christina. She is the one who did this to me. I’ll make her pay as long as I’m alive!
The next morning, a ray of light illuminated Christina’s back, revealing hickeys of all sizes across her smooth and delicate skin.
The alarm clock jolted her out of bed. “I’ll be late for work if I don’t leave now.”
Nathaniel wrapped his arms around her from behind as he greedily took in her bodily fragrance. “I’ll drive you there.”
“Okay.”
Upon her arrival at Radiant Corporation’s design department, her colleagues congratulated her.
“Ms. Steele, I heard that the role Shelley had stolen from you has been reinstated. The company has also stated that they will give you the justice you deserve.”
“Ms. Steele, I still can’t believe that you’re Ada.”
“I’m sure you’ll be appointed as the head designer for next season.”
Despite her colleagues‘ congratulatory words, Christina didn’t feel excited at all.
Once she returned to her office, she cleared up all the work she had on hand. As for those that were not completed, she wrote down detailed instructions on how to complete them.
When everything was done, Christina typed out a letter and strode into Gina’s office.
At that moment, Gina was discussing with her a*sistant the work plan for the end of the year. When she saw Christina enter, she invited the latter to take a seat.
It wasn’t until a short while later that Gina dismissed her a*sistant.
“Christina, I’m sorry about what happened with Shelley. I didn’t know that she stole your design.”
Gina regretted the fact that both of them never had the opportunity to properly discuss the matter, as she did suspect that the design was very similar to Christina’s style.
If she had acted prudently by investigating the matter, it wouldn’t have escalated any further.
Christina gave her head a gentle shake. “Everything has been resolved now. I came here today to inform you of my resignation.”
She then placed her resignation letter on the table.
Gina was briefly stunned before a sense of reluctance crept into her.
“The company plans to have you play a significantly more important role in the second half of the Why don’t
you reconsider your decision?” Gina persuaded Christina to stay.
Christina simply smiled in response. Since her decision was made, there was no turning back.
The only factor that made her feel bad was Gina. After working with each other, both of them had become good friends.
year.
To have made a true friend within such a fast–paced and unpredictable era was indeed a rare occurrence.
“I’ve decided to start my own studio, as the company doesn’t give me enough freedom to express myself.”
Recognizing the fact that Christina’s decision was firm, Gina accepted the resignation letter and stopped dissuading the former.
Thereafter, Christina handed Gina an exquisite–looking box. “This is a gift I got for you. Thank you for all that you’ve done for me. I might be leaving Radiant Corporation, but our relationship has gone beyond that of colleagues.”
“Thank you, Christina. I’m confident you’ll be able to find success in the design industry wherever you go.” Gina gave Christina her best wishes.
After emerging from Gina’s office, Christina handed over her work to her colleagues as she briefly informed them about her departure.
Everyone speculated that either the incident with Shelley must have traumatized Christina of some other company had headhunted her with an offer too good to refuse.
Whatever it was, they were certain that Christina was more than capable of making herself a star in the design industry given her talent.
After leaving Radiant Corporation, Christina gave Bailey a call. She wanted the latter to recommend a real estate agent, as she had decided to buy a new house.
