Chapter 6208
At two o’clock in the afternoon, Mandy Zimmer’s car arrived at an office building in the suburbs.
The driver frantically drove the car to a corner before parking it there.
As soon as Mandy was about to question him, he quickly made a gesture.
Everyone inside instinctively looked through the window before seeing a huge crowd gathering in front of the building.
Those people were raising flags and banners while screaming their lungs out.
“You heinous people! Give us back our hard-earned money!”
“Give it back! Give it back!”
“We want guaranteed delivery of housing! We’ll protect our own interests!”
Mandy and the others were showing horrible expressions.
Harvey York also frowned.
“You didn’t get the license yet, right?
“What’s going on here?” Mandy sighed. She was speechless.
Maya Lee hesitated for a while.
“Sir York, several properties were already sold before the ninth branch took control.
“Of course, it’s most likely because of some scumbag in the family who sold them all with a twelve percent discount.
“But since there was no license, no signing was involved either.
“Based on our information, the family has the money, and receipts were made after the transaction.
“Simply put, we have no choice but to accept it.”
“How many of them are sold?”
Maya bitterly chuckled.
“To my knowledge, at least two hundred. Based on Wolsing’s average housing prices, one costs at least seven hundred and thirty thousand.”
“That’s a hundred and forty-six million for two hundred houses…”
Harvey sighed. He finally got the complete picture of how much trouble Mandy had been dealing with.
Even with a license, judging from the current situation…
It would be almost impossible for her to maintain a good balance for the project’s payments.
After all, the Jean family had already sucked all the profits dry in the first place.
Mandy took a deep breath.
“Let’s go through the back door.
“We’ll deal with the sales and come back later.
“People are waiting for us.”
Harvey paused for a moment.
“What do you mean?”
Mandy took another deep breath.
“We rely on an intermediary for our license, after all.”
“An intermediary…”
Harvey froze. That statement did not sit right with him at all.
A few minutes later, Mandy and the others came to the multi- purpose meeting room in the building.
A man sat in Mandy’s chair while crossing his legs on the table, puffing his cigar while two beautiful women massaged his legs.
“You’re a busy woman, Ms. Mandy!
“I’ve been waiting for you here for hours! I haven’t even eaten!
“You should treat me to lunch later!”
The man was about to reach out for Mandy’s hand.
“You’re too kind, Mr. Eiden. The administration department has arranged a three-Michelin-star course for you in the afternoon. Don’t try to deny it, or I’ll have to fire everyone in that department.”
