Chapter 6169
“You should lend me the car for a stroll after our meal, Young Master Reggie. Someone has to warm up your new car, after all!”
Anne smiled brightly at him.
Reggie threw the car key to her. “Take it. Just give it back when you’re bored with it.”
“What a generous man!”
Anne seemed intentionally shocked, then glared at Harvey with her long and narrow eyes.
“Some people just can’t compete at all! Some treat money like dirt, while others would try their hardest just to take advantage of others…”
Harvey ignored Anne’s insults and casually sipped his tea.
The tea of the Gare Pavilion was pretty impressive, all things considered.
Mandy never liked show-offs; she despised people hiding insults in their own words as well, but she decided not to bring it up since Harvey didn’t mind at all.
“Right, everyone.”
Reggie snapped his fingers.
“My father brought souvenirs after coming back from the Desert Province.
“It’s not something impressive; they’re called the Nine Eyed Beads. I heard they’ve been around for a long time. No need to hold back; there’s one for everyone!”
Reggie pulled out a cotton box and handed everyone some ordinary-looking beads.
“I heard something about these things being extremely pure, and that you’d gain endless benefits if you keep it on you. I don’t know if they’re real or not, so just take this with a grain of salt, okay?”
Reggie pulled out a pink bead before handing it to Mandy. “A beautiful bead for a beautiful woman. You should take it!”
Mandy’s eyes twitched before she glanced instinctively at Harvey. “Thank you, Young Master Reggie.”
“The legendary Eyed Beads?”
Liberty seemed surprised.
“It’s said to be near-impossible to come by! Only the sects of the Desert Province would have something like this!
“They’re all priceless, too!
“I saw one back in Hong Kong that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in an auction!
“You must’ve spent millions on all this! You’re too kind, Young Master Reggie!”
Liberty couldn’t help but praise Reggie for his generosity.
The others were holding the beads like their own baby; they had naturally heard of the beads’ history as well.
When Reggie approached Harvey, his hands were empty. He seemed a little embarrassed about it.
“This must be our first time meeting each other.
“I didn’t think there’d be one more person here.
“Please, don’t mind me.”
“He doesn’t even have the right to feel that way,” Anne said, curling her lips while playing with her bead.
“This is a good friend of Mandy’s. He got invited here since he came to expand his business in Wolsing.
“What a great blessing to us all! It’s an honor to be sitting with Sir York!”
“Oh! You’re Ms. Mandy’s legendary ex-husband! Cough! Good friend, huh…?”
Reggie showed a fake smile.
“How about this? I’ll get another bead from my father for Mandy’s sake. Consider it a meeting gift.
“But, you’re not allowed to sit with us tonight.”
