Chapter 6059
An hour later, Stefan arrived at the Mandrake Residence.
This was one of the most important strongholds of the Aenar Temple. Not only was the place very safe, but it was tightly secured as well.
After waving at the people behind to dismiss them, Stefan came to the sun room at the edge of the cliff. He’d usually come here when he needed to think things through.
He showed a playful expression after taking a look at the paper Harvey gave him.
“Rumors say that Amos is trained under both the Kronen Temple and the Adenar Temple’s martial arts. His strength rose exponentially, but there’s also a huge trouble.
“Judging from the current situation, he probably asked for Sir York’s help as well. And from what Sir York said, Amos is probably having a hard time controlling the energies in his body.
“If that’s the case, it’d be better for me to stall a few more days.
“Maybe, if I go back to the Aenar Temple right now and announce that I have the Smalt Sect’s badge, Amos will be pressured even harder.
“I need to think of the bigger picture here…”
Many thoughts came to Stefan’s mind as he was about to make a decision.
Fwoom!
The air crackled from afar, and the glass surrounding the sun room instantly shattered.
An arrow made of meteorite flew right past his head. It was stuck right beside him, and dangled around lightly; an unspeakable sense of murderous intent could be felt from it.
More importantly, this looked like a warning shot.
If that wasn’t the case, everything would’ve ended with a shot right on Stefan’s head.
Stefan’s body tensed up. A cold shiver ran down his spine.
He slowly raised his head, squinting at the peak of the mountain in front of him. A glimmer of light could be seen.
“Assassin! An assassin! Protect the consul!”
The entire Mandrake Residence rumbled; many people immediately surrounded the sun room.
They wore horrible expressions when they saw the state Stefan was in.
Many monks quickly stood in front of Stefan; they quickly activated their Iron Skin, trying to shield him from harm with their own bodies.
“It’s fine…”
Stefan shook his head.
“This is a warning. The person who did this has another goal in mind…
“Keep calm! Send a team to investigate the mountain in front! Stay safe out there!”
One of his trusted subordinates nodded before leaving with some monks.
Voom, voom, voom!
Stefan’s phone was vibrating on the coffee table.
He glanced at the screen, seeing an unknown yet ordinary number.
It was clear someone bought a burner phone to make the call.
Even so, Stefan picked up the phone to answer it.
“Good afternoon, Consul. Do you like the gift I sent you?”
A calm yet playful tone was heard from the other side.
