Chapter 6011
Amos nodded at Harvey, then politely put his name card on the table before leaving with the others. He didn’t take away the gifts he brought over, either.
“Is Amos’s condition really as bad as you say, Young Master?”
When Amos and the others left, Dorian came out from the side wearing a janitor’s uniform and a face mask. People not paying attention wouldn’t even recognize him in the first place.
Harvey sipped his tea with a smile.
“If I exaggerate things, Amos would think I’m mediocre. If I undermine his condition, he wouldn’t be as shocked either. That was why everything I said was nothing but the truth.”
Dorian frowned. “What if he actually showed you his secret martial arts? Would you help him, then?”
“What’s wrong with selling a favor to the Smalt Sect? I’ve had a conflict with them, but it’s not like it can’t be fixed. If he hands me the seven beads and promises not to interfere with the outskirts’ affairs, so what if I help him?
After all, balance is important.
“It’s a shame. Judging from Amos’ expression, he probably decided to ignore most of what I had to say.
“An elite like him would always doubt everyone he talks to. Besides, I’ve been constantly disrespecting him to the point he sent people after me.
“You think he’d believe me saying that I’d help? No way!
“As for showing me his secret martial arts, that’s even more impossible!
“Still, he understands his situation a lot more clearly because of what I told him. I’m sure he’ll ask the Smalt Sect’s Great Wall to try my methods soon enough.”
Harvey sighed.
“Judging from this, we’ve made one thing clear.
“The young master came all the way here to fawn over me…but he’s only trying to stall me at best. He wants to stop me from going against him so often.
“Not only is he trying to get in my good graces, but he’s also threatening me. Looks like the Smalt Sect was pretty threatened by your swordsmanship last night, Mr. Dorian.”
Dorian smiled.
“So what if I’m a big threat? The Smalt Sect’s ambition didn’t come from Amos. It wouldn’t go away because of him, either.
“They’re only ceasing their activities simply because the time isn’t right. That said, this clearly isn’t Amos’s main intention!”
Harvey squinted for a moment. “I’m afraid I must ask you to do something for me.”
“Please! I’ll do anything to help!” Dorian said.
“Figure out what’s going on with Emil, as well as his whereabouts. I’m planning to visit him.”
Harvey took a deep breath.
“I don’t think Amos only came here because of pleasantries. Without any benefit, a man like him wouldn’t just show up with such a humble attitude.”
Dorian pondered the situation for a moment, then nodded before leaving the place.
