Chapter 5997
When Wesson and the others fled, Harvey casually sat in front of Kali.
Ernie froze for a moment, before waving his hand for someone to send over some tea.
“Thank you for helping me again, Sir York.”
Kali seemed anxious and embarrassed when looking at Harvey.
“Wesson’s a tough one to deal with. You’re powerful, but… This might cause you more trouble.”
Harvey shook his head, smiling.
“It’s nothing. I can deal with him however many times I want to. If he’s smart, he’ll know not to go against you or me from now on.”
Kali didn’t know what to say after hearing Harvey’s determined words.
Naturally, she could tell that Harvey had an impressive identity. But she was a smart woman; she wouldn’t speak up about it if Harvey didn’t want to.
After casually having some tea while chatting with each other, Harvey encouraged Kali to deal with the situation here before leaving the place.
He didn’t express any opinion when Kali gave thoughts about strengthening Longmen’s outskirts branch. After all, it wouldn’t be wrong for her to do that, since the branch wasn’t all that powerful in the first place.
Even if she did something wrong in the process, there wouldn’t be too much trouble since Yasmin was supporting her as well.
Harvey pondered telling Longmen’s headquarters to give Kali or her mother the right to nominate the next branch leader.
Kali wanted to invite Harvey for dinner, but he left on his own since he didn’t want to be a brother.
After all, Yasmin could deal with the situation here.
Harvey couldn’t be bothered to determine if Kali’s show of weakness had other ulterior motives. He didn’t want to get too close to her, either.
Half an hour later, Harvey’s cab arrived at the foot of the Eden Mountain.
There were still three miles away from the No. 1 villa before the driver decided to bail. The driver apologized, and Harvey slowly walked to his villa entrance without saying a word.
It was odd; there would usually be cars around the place, but the roads were completely empty. Even the lights on the road were off at this very moment.
Harvey squinted at the road ahead. Then, loud sounds of car engines were heard.
A few Toyota Prados without license plates stopped him in his tracks. The car doors opened, and a dozen monks in yellow robes came out.
Four other monks with pitch-black robes walked out from behind.
Their movements seemed a bit slow; a faint scent of rotting corpses came from them, and a cold aura seeped out of their bodies. They glared murderously at Harvey, but their gazes seemed blank at the same time.
They were none other than the Smalt Sect’s Demon Monks. Harvey smiled.
“I’m not surprised you people can stop me here. But the people who live here are all rich and powerful. How did you manage to get them to stay inside the entire time?” he said, curious.
