Chapter 5814
While Salem was planning his attack, Mandy and co were finally done with their meal at the Mandrake Residence. They all left soon after.
Because of Mandy and Julie’s good relationship recently, Julie arranged for Mandy to stay in the biggest property the Kronen Temple had in the outskirts.
Mandy was planning to decline, but she realized she could avoid the eyes of the top ten families that way. She quietly accepted Julie’s offer, since she’d have a private space to do things conveniently.
On the way back, Mandy and Harvey took the same car.
Rhodes was unhappy; since the Benz S Class only had two seats, he had no choice but to get another car.
Julie resented Harvey’s shamelessness, but under such circumstances, she couldn’t chase him away. After all, Harvey was still Mandy’s bodyguard in name.
“Looks like you’re doing well for yourself, Ms. Zimmer!
“Not only are you good friends with a Maiden of the Kronen Temple, but even a young master from the top ten families is trying to be your bodyguard…
“I’m pretty jealous, to be honest.”
Harvey smiled at Mandy while he stroked her leg. He enjoyed its smooth and delicate texture.
Mandy’s growth was completely beyond his expectations. With time, she’d surely be able to build her own wealthy family.
“You’re pretending to be a kept young man, playing around with university girls… If that’s the case, why can’t I get a young master as a bodyguard?”
Mandy glared at Harvey, but she didn’t push his hand away.
“If I didn’t show up tonight, who knows if you’d become the Higgs family’s live-in son-in-law or not?”
Harvey sighed. “You know why I’m here in the first place.”
Harvey moved his hand, and pulled out two Eyed Beads. He casually put them i Mandy’s hands.
“You’re here for the Two-Eyed Bead.
“But if you bring these two back to the Jean family, nobody will accuse you of failing the mission. The waters here are too deep. I don’t think it’s good for you to stay any longer.”
Mandy was filled with shock after seeing the two beads. She knew Harvey was a skillful man, but not to this extent.
The top ten families made so many plans and arrangements, but they couldn’t even obtain a single bead.
More importantly, Harvey had the most prized bead of them all -the Nine-Eyed Bead.
It was truly a shocking sight.
Mandy held the beads for a moment, then put them back in Harvey’s hand.
“This is yours. I can’t take it,” she said, shaking her head.
Harvey scoffed. “What’s mine is yours, what’s yours is yours too. This has always been your belief, right? Why are you being so polite to me now?”
Mandy shook her head again.
“It’s not that. Things are different now.
“Before, I was only working with the Jean family, but now, I’m with the top ten families.
“These families will not stop until they get their hands on the Nine-Eyed Bead.”
