A door was pushed open in the side hall of Aenar Temple before Miley Surrey stepped inside.
Stefan Augustus made a gesture while reading a scripture. When finally done, he raised his head to look at Miley.
“Something wrong?”
Miley’s beautiful face was showing an odd expression before letting out a sigh.
“We were late, Mr. Stefan.
“Last night, Conrad came all the way here, threatening the Surrey family to grant him full authority…
“Harvey tricked him into forty-eight-hour detainment at the police station. The American Embassy can only bail him out after that.”
Stefan paused before frowning.
“When did the Surrey family’s business have anything to do with Harvey?
“Who does he think he is to get involved like that?
“He might as well deal with the entire outskirts’ business at this point.”
“It’s probably just a coincidence Harvey got involved this time.
Naturally, Miley had her sources planted in the Surrey family to be in the know.
“Harvey even mentioned Dragon Cell.
“The police had no choice but to do their job.
“That said, I still don’t understand why Harvey would get himself involved.”
Stefan thought about the situation before picking out a stack of documents, then threw it before Miley.
“This must be why.”
Miley took a few glances before her expression changed.
“This bastard got Harvey involved in Longmen’s affairs?!
“Both Creed and Conrad are Henrik’s disciples!
“Conrad’s benefits would also be Henrik’s!
“No wonder Harvey would get involved!
“I should’ve killed Ernie myself if I knew that this would happen!”
“You should be calm to achieve big things. I told you this already,” replied Stefan calmly.
“What’s the point of getting this worked up?
“Recite your prayers before anything else.”
Miley’s face instantly darkened. After being dead silent for about ten minutes, she returned to her senses.
“Since Ernie got Harvey involved, he surely wouldn’t let the Surrey family fall into Conrad’s hands that easily.
“Why would you start panicking if that’s the case?”
Stefan stepped forward with a smile before caressing Miley’s hair.
“This would’ve been a good thing…” said Miley after taking a deep breath.
“But Harvey actually talked that old bastard into revealing the three beads!
“He was told to either return or donate all three of them!
“That old bastard decided to donate them to the three great temples while announcing them to the public during the ceremony!
“He even mentioned he decided because of me studying here!”
“He’s donating the beads to us?
Stefan froze before taking a deep breath.
“He’s trying to divert his disaster elsewhere…
“Conrad must’ve threatened Lennon using them. That was why he knew he couldn’t keep the beads any longer.
“Since that’s the case, giving them away is the best way forward.
“But then, why won’t he just give them to Harvey instead…”
