Harvey York’s Rise to Power Chapter 5703

Chapter 5703

“How dare an outsider go against a prominent figure here?! At this point, he’s just digging his own grave!

“I’m warning you, Harlan!

“In the first place, you’re barely considered family. If you get involved with an outsider, nobody can save you when you get into trouble!”

Whitley crossed her arms as she strode into the main hall of the police station.

Billie hesitated to speak; she had no choice but to remain invisible as her parents argued.

“Do whatever you want, Whitley. If you don’t want to get involved, then leave already,” Harlan said, frowning. “I don’t need your help, anyway.”

“Oh? Is that so? Who was the one who walked circles around me after getting the news? Who was the one who only dared to come after I said so?”

Whitley’s face was filled with disdain.

“I’m warning you, Harlan ! I don’t care if you’re garbage. But, I will never allow my daughter to marry one as well!

“I don’t care what kind of relationship you have with Harvey. I don’t care how long you two go back, either! Garbage will always have sympathy towards each other.

“Let me tell you something!

“I won’t let Harvey get any closer to my daughter. Unless he agrees to stop clinging to my daughter… I will not save him!”

Harlan appeared helpless; after some time, he finally sighed.

“Harvey has an arranged marriage with Billie, but it’s just a blank promise. There isn’t a contract to bind them in the first place.

“They can go through with it if they want…but if not, then it’s completely fine too, right?

“Love is freedom. Us parents shouldn’t get involved in their business.”

Whitley chuckled coldly.

“Enough! Stop playing tricks like this with me. I’ve been pulling this card longer than you were born!

“Let me make this clear! Without Harvey’s promise… I will never call the director! I’d like to see what you’d do after that!”

The three then arrived at the main hall. After filling in a simple document, they were all sent to the interrogation room.

“How are you so careless, Harvey? I was worried sick!”

Harlan sighed in relief after seeing Harvey leaning on the chair while reading a newspaper.

Two inspectors, who were in charge of keeping an eye on Harvey, stood up.

“Hello, Mr. Harlan.”

Harlan was nothing to Whitley, but he still had some authority. That was the only reason he was respected.

Harvey instinctively looked over; he could see Harlan’s worried face, as well as Billie’s cold expression and Whitley’s look of utter disdain.

Before Harvey could say anything, Harlan glared at the two inspectors and waved his hand.

“I don’t care what my nephew did! He’s just a student! It’s inappropriate for him to be locked up here!” Harlan said.

“I’m bailing him out! If you need him for questioning, I’ll bring him back here immediately.”
