After a few minutes, the car finally left the tower and reached the highway.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re scared or not, Harvey,” Aria said.
“After that incident, you’re fated to go against Stefan. There’s no chance for you two to reconcile anymore.”
Aria was filled with disbelief. She saw that Harvey managed to make Stefan grovel in front of him, but it still felt like a dream nonetheless.
Or rather, there weren’t a lot of times that the three great temples would suffer, since their status was simply too powerful – let alone a consul.
Aria was wondering how she was going to report the situation to Lennon.
She wanted the Surreys to stay away from Harvey for the time being.
He was a strong man, but he was simply too dangerous. His actions were incompatible with the family as well.
Harvey looked calmly at the cars outside the window. Nobody knew if he managed to see through Aria or not.
“Do you really think that without what happened… Everything would just end without a hitch, Ms. Aria? You’re too naive.”
Aria froze.
“You mean…?”
“The moment I fixed your grandfather’s problem, I’m already standing against the Aenar Temple.
“I don’t know what they want…but I have a feeling they’ve been having plans to swallow the Surrey family whole.
“Judging from Miley’s actions or Aryan’s suggestion to cripple Mr. Lennon…
“And the fact that Stefan came straight for you… Do you really think that your family will go against the Aenar Temple? Even if Stefan really did manage to take advantage of you?
“Maybe your family will turn you into a gift for him as well.
“It doesn’t matter if Mr. Lennon loves you or not.
“When it comes to the interests of wealthy families, a lot of things can be sacrificed.
“You should know that more than I do.
“You’re thinking of ways to distance yourself from me… But your family would be closer to death than ever before.
“Do you believe me?”
Harvey stared deeply at Aria.
Aria trembled. She didn’t think that Harvey would be able to see through her like this. To him, she was no different from a naked baby.
More importantly, his speculations were reasonable as well. His calm words were able to shine the light on the whole truth.
Since Lennon looked up to Aria, it was only normal that she wasn’t a fool to begin with.
“So judging from what you said…” she said, after regaining her calm. “What is it that the Aenar Temple wants from the family?”
Harvey smiled.
“I don’t know your family, so I don’t have a clue as to what they’re targeting.”
