Harvey York just figured out why the Jean family was willing to sacrifice two branch heads for some bead.
Everything made sense now.
He had no choice but to go at this point.
“I am interested in attending the auction here.”
“Should I fetch you tonight, Master York?” asked Aria shyly.
“It’s fine.
Harvey shook his head.
He had been attracting enough attention while he was at the university.
Things would get hairy if a beautiful woman like Aria came to fetch him in a luxury car.
He just wanted to avoid any unnecessary trouble.
“Send me an address. I’ll head over there tonight.”
Aria would not want to force Harvey.
“Right. Just mention my name to the guards.
“I’ll let them know about you.”
After hanging up the phone, Harvey ignored everyone’s odd gaze when he texted Yvonne Xavier and Tyson Woods.
The two texted back soon after.
Harvey took a few glances before leaving in the afternoon when the classes ended.
After seeing him leave, Lorel Bree quickly approached Roger Cobb, who had remained silent the entire time.
“Don’t mind what happened, Young Master Roger!
“We’ve all heard about it already!
“Harvey is probably the Higgs family’s live-in son-in-law! That’s why he’s been acting arrogantly!
“The Higgs family and the Klein family are united! Their powers combined can even suppress the four great tribes!
“It’s only normal for Young Master Ernie and Mr. Garry to be afraid!
“Besides, Mr. Garry’s strength must be limited as well!
“If not, he wouldn’t have kneeled before a live-in son-in-law like him!”
Roger took a deep breath.
“No matter the case, Harvey’s strength is real. I witnessed it first -hand,” he replied.
Lorel scoffed.
“Times have changed, Young Master Roger!
“So what if he’s good at fighting?
“He’s no match against firearms and other sorts of weapons anyway!
“Especially after graduating, his brute force is entirely useless in society!
“Other than being a security guard, what else can he do?
“In this day and age, only connections, money, and status mean everything!
“A man like him wouldn’t be able to attain things like that!
“Why would you look down on yourself just because of a man with only brute force, Young Master Roger?”
Roger slightly nodded after hearing those words.
Power meant everything in the outskirts, but money, connections, and status contributed more towards improving society at large than mere combat prowess.
After seeing Roger regain his confidence, Lorel rolled her eyes before speaking again.
“The Bree family received a few invitations to attend Aenar Temple’s auction tonight!
“We should go together!
“Only people like us have the right to attend anyway!
“It’s said a legendary Eyed Bead will also be revealed!
“We probably wouldn’t have the chance to get it, but it’d be nice to get a good look!”
