Harvey York’s Rise to Power Chapter 5524

Chapter 5524

Shepard smiled brightly.

“Of course. I know how you work.

“Whoever touches Ms. Zimmer, their fate has already been sealed.

Aleah and her men would definitely suffer as soon as you take action.

“Am I wrong?”

“What are your conditions?” Harvey asked.

Naturally, he knew that the opportunity wasn’t for free.

“Straightforward.” Shepard raised his thumb.

“Since you’re that impatient, I’ll be frank. I have a request: I’d like you to keep me safe during Damon’s inauguration ceremony.”

Harvey’s eyes darkened. “What are you trying to do?”

Shepard smiled.

“Blaine wants me dead because he wants my position, right? Of course, news like this needs to be on TV and newspapers. Am I wrong?”

Harvey’s eyes lit up. Then, he passionately tapped on Shepard’s shoulder.

“You should’ve told me that sooner!

“We wouldn’t have such a misunderstanding if you did.

“Come, come! We’re brothers now!

“Your problems are mine as well!

“From now on, I’ll make sure you’re safe everywhere you go.

“Not just the John family…

“Even with the top ten families combined, they wouldn’t be able to do anything against you.

“You better not disappoint me when the time comes!”

Shepard’s eyes twitched, and he came back to his senses.

“Don’t worry, Sir York.

“I’m from Evermore myself… but I’ll be dead if I don’t look after myself!

“I wouldn’t be able to sleep until Blaine’s taken out of the picture!”

Harvey burst out laughing.

“No need to call me that!

“Come on! I’ll be your big brother from now on! Just call me by my name!”

Eight o’clock at night.

An elegant-looking cruise ship sailed along the Rio River.

It soon arrived in the middle of the river downstream.

A huge oil tanker with bustling lights was parked there. It was an extravagant sight.

The cruise would usually provide its services worldwide, since it had been traveling on open seas. But after the pandemic, its international routes were immediately canceled.

For the past two years, the cruise had been providing services at ports of major cities of Country H.

Since the cruise was registered as a small country from abroad…

From a certain perspective, it was considered an enclave.

Laws of Country H didn’t apply on the cruise, so people of all backgrounds like being there.

When the cruise parked on the deck, Harvey could see people of various skin colors there.

A lot of them exuded fierce auras. They were clearly no ordinary people.

Some of the bedrooms were repurposed as shops to sell all sorts of items that wouldn’t be seen in Country H. It was quite an infuriating sight.

Naturally, the cruise was a lawless place that no ordinary people knew about.

The entire place was filled with uncertainty.
