Harvey glared coldly at Shepard.
“So all you’ve been trying to tell me…
“Is that Aleah has Mandy. And she doesn’t know about it?
“Are you going to tell her if I do anything wrong to you?”
Shepard chuckled.
“You misunderstand me, Sir York. Maybe I should tell you something so you wouldn’t look at me that way.”
Shepard waved his hand for his subordinates to leave. He slowly stood up, and looked at the Indigo Mountain’s silhouette with a lonely look.
“Before, I was just an ordinary medical student.
“My graduation thesis was about the theory of getting rid of all senescent cells.
“Because of this, the last generation’s Shepard found me.
“When he died, his position became mine.
“And, I found something greatly beneficial after being in position.
“Evermore has money and power, and the strength to obtain unimaginable things for me to further my research.
“I was Evermore’s shining star. I had the right to attend all sorts of grand events the organization held. As time passed, I managed to develop my research. I stupidly showed it to the Lord.

Harvey frowned. “And what of you?”
Shepard burst out laughing.
“I’m not even well-versed in martial arts. Nobody would avenge me, even if I die.”
“Since you know that already, then what’s the point of talking with me?” Harvey asked.
“There are no eternal friends, Sir York… However, the enemy of my enemy is most certainly my friend!
“The moment Ms. Zimmer fell into Aleah’s hands, I knew we had a chance to work together.
“Simply put, not only are you helping me, but you’re also helping Ms. Zimmer, right?”
Harvey chuckled coldly.
“Are you trying to sell me a favor when your organization’s the one causing trouble?
“Are you sure we can call this working together?”
