“Didn’t I already get someone to send your family a marriage proposal?
“Did you think it through? Are you going to accept my kindness and go with my requests?
“Are you going to unite both our families? Or are you planning to fight us to the death instead?
“If you do that, you don’t need me to remind you of the consequences now, do we?”
Harvey heard a familiar voice, but he couldn’t remember who it was yet.
Kairi’s face darkened, as if she recognized the voice.
“If you want a fight, then that’s what you’ll get,” she said darkly. “The Patel family will never accept your conditions!”
She spoke in a firm tone common to elites. Even so, Harvey could tell that she was nervous. It was as if the person on the other side of the phone was a tough enemy to deal with.
“Heh, heh, heh! I expect no less from the person in charge of the family!
“You have a quite the personality! I like that! I admire a stubborn attitude like this in a woman!”
The voice sounded like a fearless threat.
“I know you pretty well. I never hold back against the people who don’t accept my request.
“Are you really not going to think about this? It’d be boring if I have to force myself onto you!”
“Try it if you dare!” Kairi snarled icily.
“Heh! What a feisty woman!” The voice was filled with mocking playfulness. “I always get what I want. If I don’t get it, then my family will get it for me.”
Naturally, the person on the other side of the phone had a big ego.
Harvey took a sip of his tea before he finally recognized the voice. It was Westley of the Wright family!
He didn’t leave Golden Sands despite getting humiliated, and was still blatantly threatening Kairi. He must have a death wish.
“Do you think you own the Wright family? Do youthink you’re Emery?
“You’re only one of his lackeys ! You’re threatening me even though you’re this weak? You must be insane!”
Kairi had no intention of holding back.
“Leave! As far as you can! Stop being delusional already!”
Westley’s voice seemed colder when he spoke again.
“I’ve been infatuated with you this whole time. Not only did I send your family a marriage proposal, but I also called you.
“And yet, you reject me despite all that? Have you even thought of the consequences for doing such a thing?”
“Are you threatening me?” Kairi snapped.
“You must be mistaken, Ms. Kairi.
