Harvey York’s Rise to Power Chapter 5198

Chapter 5198

Kairi Patel smiled.

“As long as you know what you’re up against.

“I was worried that you’d fall for someone else’s gentle embrace.

“If that were the case, the rest of us might just go down with you.”

Harvey York burst into laughter.

“Don’t worry. That woman desperately wants me dead. She wouldn’t use tricks like that.”

“That’s hard to say.

Kairi frowned.

“Women like her would use everything in their power to achieve their goals!

“Weren’t there well-known experts like the Kawashima family during the Second World War?”

Harvey gave out a chuckle.

“Stop worrying. I’m an experienced man. There is no need to talk about this…

“Let’s go back to Heaven’s Gate instead.

“Did Layton Surrey have any relations with the Patel family?”

Harvey flipped through the pages of the documents. He felt curious after seeing some history between Layton and the Patel family.

“We did, but that was decades ago.

“Grudges of the older generation shouldn’t affect our judgment anyway.

“Besides, he’ll have to pay if he was actually involved in Quill Gibson’s death!

“I’ll suppress everyone opposing the idea in the family. I’ll make sure that you’re fully supported!”

Kairi immediately revealed her stance. This was one of her objectives when she made the phone call.

Harvey merely smiled.

“You don’t have to do all that. As long as the Patel family and the six Hermit Families keep the John family at bay for the time being, that’s good enough for me.”

Harvey flipped to a different page, revealing Blaine John and Layton’s relationship as teacher and disciple.

In recent years, the John family has unconditionally supported Heaven’s Gate with land, resources, and money, among other things.

On the surface, it seemed like the John family worshipped Heaven’s Gate.

Then again, Harvey knew that it was not that straightforward.

After all, a scheming man like Blaine did not do things without a reason.

Harvey even wondered if everything happened because Blaine wanted Layton to take him out.

If that were the case, he would not mind dealing with Blaine after Layton.

After hanging up the phone, Harvey started thinking about everything that transpired in Heaven’s Gate’s headquarters.

Kairi reminded him through the phone that he needed to swiftly take care of Layton.

That said, Harvey decided to wait since Layton had not shown his stance.

After all, it was not the day of Quill’s funeral just yet.

After Harvey finished reading the documents, he was about to sleep when he came to a quiet courtyard where he could stay for the time being.

Since he liked having peace and quiet, Rachel Hardy’s Longmen disciples were posted about three hundred feet around the place.

The courtyard was deathly silent.

But the second Harvey walked inside, he instantly squinted.

The pleasing sound of a harp echoed from inside his bedroom…
