“If he gets angry, he can keep us at the base if he decides he doesn’t want us to go.”
Harvey laughed.
“I didn’t force him to come.
“He came of his own accord.
“I gave him a choice.
“After all, he will die a horrible death if he doesn’t follow.”
Alani gave a strange look before becoming silent.
“I need to remind you, Sir York.
“The badge can’t do everything for you.
“The people who were put off by it weren’t exactly happy about it either.
“I say this because we are on the same side.
“I don’t want you to drag us all down because of your carelessness.”
“If you are afraid, you can always leave. Nothing can stop you.”
Alani glanced at Harvey with an unpleasant look.
“I’m here for Mr. Quill’s funeral. Have you really forgotten, or are you just pretending?”
