“But it’s still easy for us to kill a person or two. If not, what would happen to our reputation?”
Carver then waved his hand.
“Come! Take the suspect away!”
A dozen men in red uniforms stepped up, with safeties off their firearms. Their faces were frosty, and they looked fully prepared to take a life away.
“We’ll see if you dare!”
Kairi glared coldly at Carver.
“You use my name to bail Harvey out, and now, you’re slandering him and giving him bogus charges? Do you really think my position is just for show?!”
Kairi wasn’t sure who was really behind the entire situation, but…
She knew Harvey would be in a lot of danger for this. He had gone against too many people in the city.
If he was actually locked behind bars, too many people would make sure it stayed that way.
Following Kairi’s command, her bodyguards raised their firearms, looking grim. The air tensed up instantly.
Carver smiled calmly as he looked at Kairi.
“Of course I know just how impressive the Patel family is.
“Even so, the five major branches of the family are about to gather. The main branch is about to have a lot on its plate. Are you sure you want to go against Golden Cell right now?
“Have you not thought of the consequences?
“If you’re really dead set on doing this, then be my guest. Us honest folk will never argue against that.
“But if that’s the case, we’ll have to see if you’re able to take responsibility after that…”
Carver waved his hand, and the people in red uniforms lowered their firearms as if they wouldn’t fight back if Kairi decided to take action.
Kairi’s expression worsened immediately.
She wasn’t afraid of going against Golden Cell, but…
Just as Carver said, if the princes of the Patel family’s five major branches were to gather, the main branch would be in a tough spot if they fought Golden Cell.

The red uniformed-men immediately placed the barrels of their firearms on Harvey’s head.
“Nobody can protect you now, Harvey.
“Are you coming with us?
“Or do you want us to take action instead?
“If we do that, we won’t take responsibility for your injuries…
“Besides, if you care about Ms. Kairi, you should really convince her not to do anything stupid.”
“After all, recklessness always has its price.”
Seeing Carver’s confident expression, Harvey smiled.
“Fine. I’ll come with you.”
Nobody would be able to take Harvey away if he didn’t allow it. However, he wanted to make sure whether Blaine was actually behind the entire situation or not. Perhaps someone else was involved as well…
“Not bad! You’ve got guts.”
Carver froze after hearing Harvey’s words.
“Is that so? Tell me, will you start to feel regret about this after a few days?”
Harvey reached out to tap Carver’s face.
“Everyone must always pay for what they’ve done. Hopefully, you’ve already figured out a way to pay the price…”
