“I knew he was trying to get involved with the family through the marriage, so I blatantly declined.
“He stopped talking about this as of now, so I thought that he already gave up. I didn’t think that…”
Kairi smiled at Harvey, then took out her phone.
“Thank you for this, Sir York. Now that I know who’s behind all this, it’ll be easy for me to handle the situation.
“Blaine’s pretty unlucky to go against you, huh?”
“That depends. If I’m not careful, I might be the unlucky one here,” Harvey replied.
“I’m a lot more curious about Blaine now. Normally speaking, a young master of the John family wouldn’t have an easy time controlling one of the four cornerstones of the country, even with Evermore’s involvement.”

Kairi was dead silent for a moment. Her face was stormy.
