Reuben Jean was utterly enraged.
“What is wrong with your family, Simon?!
“As the head family of the ninth branch, you couldn’t even teach a damn live-in son-in-law properly!

“At this point, I should probably hold a meeting with the Elder Group. Maybe we need a different branch head instead!
“Letting ignorant and disrespectful people in positions of power wouldn’t benefit us anyway!”
Elodie Jean and Aunt Witby’s eyes lit up.
“That’s right! It’s about time we have a different branch head!” the two exclaimed.
“Someone might just take advantage of others with all that arrogance!”
Lilian Yates’ eyes twitched before glaring at Harvey York.
“Elder Reuben is a prominent figure, Harvey! If you’re going to challenge him like that, at least leave Mandy out of this!”
“Don’t worry. He’s just an arrogant and unreasonable man with some skill,” replied Harvey.
“People like that can’t go against Mandy, let alone me.
“He doesn’t have the power.”
Everyone went dead silent.
They gasped in disbelief after returning to their senses.
Nobody thought Harvey would be this straightforward.
Who was Reuben?
He was an elder of the Jean family’s Elder Group!
He was even the head of the ninth branch in the past!
A retired old man did not hold much authority…
But his knowledge and power were simply too immense!
Along with his reputation in the family, he was still quite a prominent figure, even if he was not one of the most revered.

Elodie wanted to crush Harvey’s spirits with her bare words.
The monk behind Reuben slowly raised his head before coldly glaring at Harvey. He did not expect someone to be this ignorant to disrespect Reuben like this.
Mandy stepped up, wanting to prevent the situation from escalating.
“Forget it, Harvey…”

Harvey chuckled.
“There’s something you’re forgetting.
“I’m currently not married to Mandy.
“Simply put, I’m not a part of the family.
“It’s natural for you people to respect him…
“But as an outsider, why should I entertain an arrogant man who can’t differentiate right from wrong?
“The country respects its elders, but what right does he even have for me to do so?
“If he didn’t seem that weak, I would’ve slapped him to the damn ground by now…”
