Chapter 4994
Chapter 4994
A Mercedez Benz was quietly cruising on top of a viaduct.
Mandy covered her head while taking a sip of soda. Then, she looked at Harvey.
“Thank you, Harvey.
“But you were too reckless!
“He’s the young master of the John family! If he wants to take revenge, we…”
Mandy felt nothing but helplessness.
She knew she’d be in deep trouble if Harvey didn’t show up. Her sister would be dragged into the mess as well.
Even so, she still thought that Harvey was being too stubborn to solve the problem this way.
Harvey was silent for a moment.
“There won’t be any difference. Blaine and I have been mortal enemies since the moment you two went on a date.”
He didn’t mention anything about Evermore.
The two were already going against each other…
And yet, Harvey was still holding back for some reason.
Mandy didn’t want to stay on the subject anymore.
“How did you know that your first shot wasn’t loaded?”
“I didn’t, it was just luck,” Harvey replied. “If it was actually loaded, then he asked for it himself, right?”
Mandy froze; she thought that the man in front of her felt terribly unfamiliar.
After a long journey of silence, Mandy and Simon were sent back to the Zimmer family’s villa. Harvey left the two after making sure that Simon wasn’t badly injured.
Harvey had been living in the Zimmer family’s house, but he wanted to go to Fortune Hall that night. If Blaine started taking revenge, he would have no choice but to fight till the very end.
Since that was the case, it was better if he didn’t get Mandy involved in the first place.
The next day, at six-thirty o’clock.
A Gulfstream private jet was parked at the VIP area of the international airport. Those who owned the jet were either rich or powerful.
There was a chilly breeze. No cars or people could be seen, making the entire place seem quite desolate.
Mandy was clad in business attire. She stood in front of the VIP passageway, her gaze cold.
Some people were seen laying out a red carpet. Many expert martial artists in robes were around, ready to do their jobs as bodyguards.
It was clear that a truly prominent figure was about to show up.
Soon, a middle-aged man in a robe arrived. He froze when he saw Mandy, then approached her with a faint smile.
“Hello, Ms. Zimmer. Mr. Jean is only here to visit the Indigo Mountain. He doesn’t want to be involved with other things. You should leave,” he said.
Mandy frowned. “There’s something I’d like to see Mr. Jean for, Mr. Kieran. Please tell him that. Just give me a minute.”
Kieran sized up Mandy for a moment.
“Right. You’re still the head of the ninth branch. According to the rules, you have the right to see Mr. Jean three times every year.
“That said, you only get five minutes per meeting. We cannot waste Mr. Jean’s time any further.”
Mandy nodded. “Of course. Don’t worry about that.”
Kieran nodded back before leaving.
