Amora’s high and mighty attitude from before was completely replaced by respect toward Harvey. She quickly walked toward him with a gentle smile.
“Please don’t mind me coming here uninvited, Sir York.”
Seeing her refined and noble appearance, Harvey felt that Amora seemed a lot more personable.
He signaled for her to sit down, and smiled at her.
“What is it? Is your father still paralyzed? If that’s the case, he’s probably pretending.”
“Thank you for your concern. He’s perfectly fine now,”
Amora replied quickly. “After knowing that I was coming here, he told me to thank you personally. Without you, he would’ve become a vegetable for the rest of his life…”
“Doesn’t he hate me for taking half of his family’s assets?”
Harvey asked.
Amora smiled.
“You’re kidding. My father and I were resentful at first, but we understood something.
“You’re a man who’s destined for great things.
“It may look like our family suffered huge losses, but from another perspective, half of our assets are connected to you. Our family is blessed!
“Because of this, my father’s been grinning from ear to ear whenever he wakes up.”
Harvey frowned.
‘What kind of lie is that supposed to be? She’s definitely making it sound better than it actually is…”
Out of respect, he didn’t want to expose Amora.
“Right. Let’s cut to the chase. If there’s nothing else, I should be going back to the Fortune Hall,” Harvey said after taking a sip of his tea.
Amora nodded.
“First off, I came to apologize for Trenton. We weren’t strict enough with our teachings, and that caused random people to get closer to the family.”
Amora seemed worried.
“Since everything’s been settled, I won’t bring the situation up again. You don’t need to worry about it anymore,” Harvey said.
“You’re too kind!”
Amora took a deep breath, and pulled out a contract from her briefcase.
“Secondly, this is a contract worth a hundred and fifty million dollars for Mandy Zimmer. Think it as something to relieve your pressure.
“The contract wasn’t signed because of our previous conflict before. We even gave Elodie a fifteen million dollar contract, hoping she’d use Mandy to threaten you…
“We’d like to compensate with this…
“Scrapping the contract with Elodie would make people doubt the Foster family.
“Since half of the family’s assets are yours now, we need to do things for your sake as well.
“The best way to solve the problem is to give this contract to CEO Zimmer.
“All the signatures are ready. The contract will be effective immediately as soon as CEO Zimmer signs it.”
Amora respectfully placed the contract in front of Harvey.
