Kairi, on the other side, was wearing a short skirt.
Her long, alluring legs could occasionally be seen.
Even with Harvey’s strong willpower, he couldn’t help but be impressed by Kairi’s ability to lure him from afar.
Sensing Harvey’s odd expression, Kairi smiled proudly before sipping some tea.
“I called you for something important, Sir York.”
Harvey gestured for Kairi to continue.
“We kept a close eye on Nameless and the rest these past few days.
“Evermore wouldn’t just give up after their loss here.
“Blaine hasn’t taken any action, but Vaughn has visited him three times. Every time, he’d stay for at least three hours.
“Judging from this, we can tell that even the Thompson family is probably involved with Evermore.
“Also, there have been quite a lot of new faces entering the city. These people have one thing in common: they’re all martial arts experts.
“They didn’t tour the city, nor did they spend money on anything. They wouldn’t even get out of their hotel rooms, either. They’d only order takeouts.
“We sent people to deliver some of their food, but no one was able to see their faces. They’re pretty cautious.
“I have reason to believe that Faceless is the one who brought them here.
“Preparing for so many experts here means that they’ll be doing something big soon.”
Harvey thought about the situation.
“Is Faceless going to fight us with force? What about the rules of the underworld?”
Kairi frowned.
“We don’t understand, either.
“Logically speaking, unless Faceless and his son have a way to take out the Patel family and the Hermit Families at the same time, they wouldn’t ignore the rules and do whatever they please.
“After all, Heaven’s Gate would eradicate them if we expose them for being lawless.”
“Either they’re confident in taking everyone out,” Harvey mused, “or they have a way to suppress information from going in and out of the city. That way, they have just one more thing to do.”
Kairi chuckled. “They want you dead?”
“That’s right,” Harvey said.
He clapped.
“From a certain perspective, I’m not from Golden Sands, nor do I represent the city in any way.
“They want to give all of you a warning without receiving any blame.
“And if they do kill me, you won’t have enough expert martial artists. After that, it wouldn’t be a problem to deal with the rest of you one at a time.
“It’s quite a good move. However, none of that means anything.”
Kairi nodded. She took out another phone to check if there was any news.
“Things might be more troublesome than we imagined, Sir York,” she said, her face turning awful.
