Chapter 4455
Chapter 4455
Amaia laughed.
“Listen closely!”
“I’m the captain of the housing department!”
“I’m in charge of geomancy shops like yours!”
“Are you ready to give up now?”
“Why would he?” A calm voice rang from behind. “From now on, you are relieved from your position.”
Waylon’s face darkened instantly when he heard those words.
“Which one of you b*stards said that?” he yelled. “I’ll rip your mouth off!”
“Me, Watson Braff,” Watson said.
“Come at me!”
‘Watson Braff?!’
Amaia’s eyes twitched.
She and the others quickly turned around and looked at the entrance.
A few people were walking inside, led by a person in a wheelchair.
He was a dignified man, though he looked a bit pale.
‘Watson Braff?’
‘The director of the housing department?’
Amaia was scared witless. She quickly ran toward Watson Braff.
“Director Braff!”
Slap!
Watson didn’t hesitate to slap her immediately.
“You were about to rip my mouth off, right?”
“Come on, then!”
“Now’s your chance!”
Amaia’s eyes and mouth were twitching frantically.
“I wouldn’t dare, sir! I…”
“What’s with the stuttering? Kneel before you speak!”
Watson immediately cut her off.
Amaia wouldn’t dare oppose the order; she knew she was in big trouble.
She slammed her knees to the ground without even caring about the people around her.
The people she brought looked at each other before doing the same. Nobody dared to raise their heads.
“Crawl in front of me and kneel with your backs straight!”
Watson hooked his finger.
Amaia leaned in, her entire body shivering.
Slap!
Watson slapped her again, not holding back at all.
“As a government official, you don’t even understand how to be fair and just!”
Slap!
“You can’t enforce the law properly, but you’re out here distorting the truth?”
Slap!
“Did you forget what you swore when you got this position?”
“Did you forget to serve the people?”
Slap, slap, slap!
“Don’t you know that your actions today not only humiliated yourself, but you’ve also dragged the entire housing department and the government down with you?”
“Kneel here for three days! Stand only when you finally understand what you did wrong!”
Amaia’s face was completely swollen; blood was seeping out of the corner of her mouth.
She dared not say a word as she kneeled.
After all, she was nothing compared to the director of the housing department.
If he wanted to, not only would her position be thrown out the window, but she would also suffer a lot.
She would face a horrible death for going against someone like Watson.
Watson stopped paying attention to Amaia, then stumbled out of his wheelchair.
“Once again, I’m sorry for my subordinates, Sir York!” he said apologetically as he walked toward Harvey.
This was the second time the housing department caused trouble to Harvey. He felt very awkward about it.
Harvey smiled.
“You’re too kind. You have hundreds of people working for you. It’s only natural that there’s a few bad apples,” he said.
“No need to take this to heart.”
