Harvey bowed respectfully, but Reece didn’t even bat an eye at him. The man showed no emotion whatsoever.
“I’m not asking for a different price. A hundred and fifty million, take it or leave it.”
“Well? Do you want it or not?!”
Harvey’s eyes turned cold after hearing Reece’s harsh tone. Reece was probably making it harder for him on purpose.
Kairi’s beautiful eyes narrowed for a split second.
Then, she smiled.
“We’re businessmen, Master Foley. We uphold our promises.”
“Honesty wins all, after all.”
“But if I remember correctly, the price we agreed upon before was fifteen million.”
“Why has it increased tenfold?”
“Besides, I know you’ve invited an expert to estimate the price of this place.”
“At most, it only costs 12.1 million dollars. It’d also be hard for you to sell it to the right person.”
“I already gave you enough respect when I agreed with fifteen million.”
“Aren’t you being a little unreasonable for raising the price after we’ve sealed the deal?”

She was very much displeased when she heard Reece’s astronomical price.

“Fifteen million was yesterday’s price,” Reece shot back shamelessly.
“Today’s price is one hundred and fifty million.”
“The Fortune Hall is passed down through nine different generations. I can sell it for whatever price I want.”
“Your estimation has no meaning to me.”

“If you can save my granddaughter, I’ll give you the place for free.”
Reece’s tone was somber and distant. Then, he turned to speak to the elderly woman waiting by the side and asked why she came here.
The woman said she was lacking sleep because of nightmares. More importantly, she found it very hard to breathe even during the day.

On the other hand, Kairi was quite upset over Reece’s distant attitude toward her.

“And yet, you’re making Harvey do the same?”
“You’re forcing him to act beyond his power!”
Reece’s face darkened instantly.
“Alright, enough talk! Either you give me the damn money, or save my granddaughter!”
“If you can’t do either, then get out of here!”
“A lot of people want my shop, anyway. It doesn’t matter if you want it or not!”
“Stop ruining my business if you’re not going with the deal!”
Kairi’s expression changed slightly at his words.
“You…!” she growled.
“Calm down, Kairi.”
Harvey, who had been standing in the back all this while, chuckled. He then shot Reece a profound look.
“It’s not that he’s trying to make things harder for you. He just doesn’t have confidence in me.”
“After all, Fortune Hall is passed down through many generations. Master Foley wouldn’t forgive himself if he sold the place to some random brat like me!”
