“Enough.Let’s not talk about this.”
Jeff waved his hand to cut her off.
“How are your injuries?”
“Were you scared?”
“That b*stard was one of mine, but he still tried to kill you! He deserves death!”
Jeff clapped his hands.
Right after that, someone handed a firearm to him.He pulled the trigger without even bothering to look at the man with the buzzcut.
Blood splattered all over the place.
Jeff hugged Elanor tightly, a tender look on his face.
“Don’t worry.Even if he’s my trusted subordinate, I’d kill him for going against you like that!”
“I’ll even kill him a thousand times over if I have to!”
“I promise, nobody will be able to hurt you ever again!”
Despite seeing Jeff’s attitude and decisiveness to stand up for her, Elanor didn’t feel a hint of warmth at all; a cold shiver went down her spine at that instant.She knew she was just like that man; she was only alive because she was still beautiful and had a use for Jeff.
If all that were to be replaced, she would be cast away just like that man.
Elanor could feel goosebumps all over her body.
She pushed Jeff away softly before saying quietly, “I’m fine, Young Master Bauer.I was just a little shocked.This is no problem at all.”
“I’ll be fine after a shower and taking a few days off.”
“Of course.Sir York is a skillful man, anyway.It’s only natural you got out of the situation unscathed with him around.”
“I should thank him for protecting my woman.”
Jeff looked like he was being grateful, but a cold light could be seen in his eyes.
Clearly, he was just putting up a front.
If there was a chance, he wouldn’t mind killing Harvey once and for all.
“Sir York really didn’t mean to cripple one of your men, Young Master Bauer.”
“It’s not that he doesn’t respect you!”

Jeff revealed a faint smile.
“No need to panic.I’m not blaming him for anything.This man’s just a subordinate, anyway.”
“Tell Sir York not to feel pressured about this.
Let’s just put this behind us; we’ll focus our efforts on dealing with Joseph!”
“I’ll make sure to bring him a hefty gift at the banquet!”
Elanor sighed.
“Thank you for your generosity, Young Master Bauer.I’m sure Sir York will do his best…”
Elanor left the sickroom half an hour later.
Jeff chuckled coldly as he stared at her back.
“Looks like I’ll have a spot for another woman soon enough…”
