The auditorium was completely cleared out.
The security tape was used to make a perimeter of about a hundred square feet for each participant to fight in.
A lot of blunt weapons were set on the side of the ring. From halberds to daggers, every single possible weapon could be seen there.
Harvey York calmly walked toward the thirty–ninth ring.
He squinted at the surveillance camera on top of him before looking at Kori on the forty–first ring. Then, he rested his hand on the ready button beside him.
“This is actual combat, Harvey! It’s completely different compared to the theory test!”
Kori tied her hair up in a ponytail while squinting her narrow eyes at Harvey.
“You don’t even have a solid foundation in martial arts! You better not force yourself if you bite off more than you can chew!
“After all, the Longmen disciples are no easy opponents.
“You won’t even be able to cry about it if they somehow manage to kill you.
“Everyone signed a death warrant anyway!”
Kori was filled with rage when she looked at Harvey.
She truly believed that Harvey only got first place during the theory exam because he crammed everything in his brain.
She also thought that Harvey would stand no chance against Longmen’s outer disciple like her in actual combat.
She felt confident that she was better than Harvey.
Harvey calmly smiled.
“Don’t you worry. I won’t let you down.”
Three hundred Longmen disciples entered the hall before picking their ring to enter.
With the participants‘ consent, both sides would be able to fight in the ring.
Admitting defeat or being knocked out of the ring
counted as a loss.
Harvey kept a straight face. He also could not be bothered to choose his opponents.
When all the Longmen disciples stood in their designated spots, Harvey gestured to the people outside that they could come in.
The first one in the ring was a stout middle-aged man.
He grabbed a wooden staff on the weapons rack before disdainfully glaring at Harvey.
“I don’t know where you came from, kid…
“But, you don’t seem like someone who knows how to fight judging from your scrawny limbs.
“People say that the weapons don’t have eyes.
“You should just leave the ring by yourself at this point. I might just accidentally kill you if you don’t.”
The Longmen disciples burst out laughing after hearing those words.
Kori was also secretly chuckling about Harvey being
insulted.
The stout man had tried to pursue Kori before. He knew exactly what to do when Kori gave him a look.
Though, Harvey did not care that he was being insulted.
“Fight me already. What’s with all this talking?”
The stout man wretchedly chuckled before charging forward. He was a lot faster than most people despite his
size.
