According to the deal, there was still one round left to play.
Even though the Hamilton family had a chance to make a comeback, they had already lost.
They could make the casino -palace look a little better if they won at least one round.
But if they lost all three rounds, the Great Gambler would have his reputation completely tarnished once and for all.
Fabian Hamilton showed a horrible expression after seeing that they were destined to lose again. “Sir York, did you see anything amiss?” he whispered.
Harvey York frowned, adjusted a few surveillance cameras, then told the others to focus on the dealer and the middle-aged man.
On the huge screen, three faces were shown side by side. Compared to Mateo’s calm demeanor, the other two were so nervous that cold sweat dripped down their necks.
Fabian was terribly worried after seeing the sight. If they were to lose this round, the casino license would not only be a part that they would lose… Losing fifteen rounds in a row would be extremely
damaging to the Hamilton family’s reputation.
Even the King of Gambling himself would naturally be a bit anxious.
Snap! Mateo snapped his fingers once again before showing a faint smile.
“Shall we continue?”
The middle-aged man did not reply, but Harvey could see his terrified gaze before it turned hollow.
After seeing Harvey’s change of expression, Fabian hesitated for a moment.
“Sir York, every single Great Gambler is hand-picked by our family.
“Not only are they skillful when it comes to gambling and luck, but they’re also extremely loyal to the family.
“We treat them very well. They live pretty lavish lives with lots of bodyguards keeping them safe. “These people would never betray the family under these circumstances.”
Harvey nodded lightly. “Your Great Gamblers might not have betrayed you before, and they might not betray you in the future, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t betray you now.”
Fabian froze.
“What do you mean?”
Harvey stared at the eyes of the middle-aged man.
“Have you paid attention to his sluggish eyes? He seems like a person who just woke up, barely conscious.”
Fabian frowned before telling his subordinates to focus on the man’s eyes. As expected, the middle- aged man seemed out of focus. A sense of bewilderment could be seen on his face.
Though, this feeling could not be seen in any ordinary person.
After pondering the situation for a moment, then Fabian whispered, “He looks like he’s sleepwalking but he’s acting normal…”
“It does seem like it.”
Harvey nodded. He had already found the answer.
“He’s been mildly hypnotized.”
“Hypnotized?”
Fabian froze.
“It doesn’t look that way! He looks pretty scared right now. He’s even frowning , thinking if he should call for another card! He looks nothing like a hypnotized man!
“Hypnotized people should act like walking bodies. Am I wrong?”
Naturally, Fabian knew how hypnosis worked because of his vast experiences.
The sight in front of him did not appear that way either.
It would be easier if the hypnotized person were asked to speak their mind, but it would be near impossible for them to remain conscious while being controlled in the middle of a game!
This was not like something out of the movies, after all!
