Harvey chuckled at the sight.
“Looks like it’s good for you to experience such a thing after all.”
“At least you’re pretty cautious about everything.”
“You live and you learn. If I’m still the same as I was before, I would’ve died without even knowing why by now,” Selena replied calmly.
“After all, I figured a lot of people wanted me dead as soon as I decided to investigate the incident ten years ago.”

This meant that there were quite a lot of people

While the two chatted, a good-looking waitress
pushed a food trolley into the room.
She bowed respectfully at Selena before saying sweetly, “Your breakfast, Madam.”
“Set it up here.”
Selena waved her hand, and soon after, the table was filled with various delicacies.
In addition to that, there was a cup of Root Tea and Black Tea respectively.
The Black Tea was for Harvey, since it was his
favorite.
Root Tea was Selena’s go-to drink, for she wanted to take care of her body.
When the waitress was done placing everything on the table, Selena waved her hand to signal the former to leave.
Selena then picked up her cup of tea and blew on it with a smile.
“I know you haven’t eaten yet, Sir York. Consider this a small token of gratitude.”
“If there’s anything you’d like to eat, just say the word. My chef should be able to make anything.”
Just then, Selena was prepared to take a sip of
her tea.
Harvey drew in a small breath, taking a whiff of the tea’s scent. A second later, his expression changed immediately.
“Hold on, Madam!”
Without an ounce of hesitation, Harvey snatched the cup away from Selena’s hands. After sniffing the cup for a while, he turned his gaze toward the waitress who was just leaving.
“Root Tea is a great tonic. Any tea of the sort can invigorate your body. It’s an extremely precious drink.”
“But in this world, there’s a type of Root Tea you shouldn’t be drinking.”
“The Ghast Root Tea.”
“Ghast Root grows around tombs inside deep mountains. It draws evil energy found inside
corpses.”
“It looks different compared to any other herbs. It smells the same, too.”
“Once you drink it, you might not feel anything at first…”
“But after three days, your body will start to feel numb. The feeling will continue until you eventually lose all consciousness, driving you into a vegetative state for your entire life!”
