“And if Vince tries to play a long game because he thinks you’re too tough to deal with, the old dogs will think that he’s not even trying to seek justice for them.

Leslie Clarke then handed over the check to Harvey York as she was speaking.
She thought that Harvey was escalating the situation quite a bit and acting too reckless for his own good…

But Harvey did not mention that fact. Instead, he merely showed her a warm smile.
“You’re too kind, Ms. Clarke. I only beat someone up! There wasn’t any plan from the beginning! You’re just flattering me!
“And another thing. You should keep the money.
JO “I want you to use half of that money to fix this place and thank the people who helped today.
“I’m not a member of the Clarke family, yet they still fought for me. Even though they had responsibilities, I couldn’t just treat them poorly. I’d at least need to show them some value out of them for taking action, right?
“I want you to give the other portion of the money to the people in Hong Kong and Las Vegas.
“Don’t just give it to anyone. Give it to people who haven’t picked a side and also the ones with us. I need your help arranging that for me.
“After all, connections aren’t just maintained through word of speech nowadays.
“And I’ll tell you why. It’s to lessen ignorant old fools like them in the future.
“Even though I’d have to deal with tens of these people every single month…
“I’d be really exhausted if there are too many of them to deal with, right?”
Leslie wanted to decline, but after hearing Harvey’s reasoning, she smiled and kept the check to herself.
“I understand. I’ll handle this properly.
“Some people might not help, but for us, it’d be better if they don’t get involved after getting the
incentive.”
