Simon was shivering with rage. It was his first time enduring such humiliation since he came to Golden Sands.

He gritted his teeth, still holding his phone.

“I didn’t break the statue! Why should I give you any money? Why should I take responsibility?”

“That’s right! What right do you have to push the blame on my father without the cops’ report?” Gabriel exclaimed.

“Besides, where’s proof that the statue actually costs 1.5 million dollars?”

“Maybe it’s a fake!”

Simon was so agitated, he started jumping up and down.

“That’s right! The statue’s a fake!”

Harvey pinched the shards on the ground. ”

The statue’s real. No doubt about that.”

Everyone froze. They looked at Harvey, puzzled.

He was clearly on Simon’s side, yet he was speaking up for Esther.

‘What’s going on here?”

‘Is that man getting betrayed?’

Esther looked at Harvey, and smiled.

Simon was boiling with anger. “What are you saying, you b*stard?”

“Stop spouting nonsense if you don’t know anything here, Harvey! I’ll get Mother to slap you to death if you keep doing this!”

Gabriel exclaimed, pointing at Harvey’s nose.

“The statue’s pure porcelain. It would only be made in ancient times.”

“Its style shows that as well.”

“Look at the patterns of the mold and the wooden fish here…”

“There are replicas of the same style at later times, but not many would notice such small details.”

“Judging from the quality of the porcelain, we can basically confirm my deduction.”

“1.5 million dollars for this isn’t expensive at all. Rather, it’s quite a reasonable price.”

Harvey calmly said his piece.

Esther smiled.

“That’s right,” she said. “You’re quite impressive.”

“You got everything about the statue right.”

“We bought the statue abroad with seven hundred and thirty thousand dollars.”

“The price won’t change, even if we take this to court.”

“That’s why, Mr. Zimmer. Since your dear son-in-law has already testified the statue’s authenticity…”.

“You should hand us the money already.”

“You’re quite a prominent figure in the city’s upper social circle, anyway.”

“How are you supposed to survive in the future if you can’t pay up for the damages?”

Esther grinned mockingly after she said that.

She loved fooling country bumpkins and foreigners who pretended to know everything.

‘They think they’re part of the circle, but they’re just lambs to the slaughter at the end of the day.’

“B*stard!”

“You damn b*stard!”

Simon wanted to trample all over Harvey.

“You traitorous b*stard!” he screamed.

“How dare you do this to me!”

“I’m disappointed in you!”

“I was blind to stand up for you before!”

Simon was about to go insane; in his eyes, Harvey wasn’t just disrespecting him- Harvey wanted him to die.

‘I have to pay that much?!’

‘Lilian will kill him for this!”

Simon glared haughtily at Esther.

“I’m in the geomancy market’s Empire Hall, Silas…” he began. “Someone named Esther John is trying to trick my money out of me. I need your help. You…”

“Hello? Hello?”

“What did you say, Uncle? The signal’s getting weak…”

Beep, beep, beep!

The call ended right after.

Simon froze. He dialed the number a few more times, but the busy tone would always play. Without Silas’s help, he had no idea how to deal with the situation.

“Looks like Young Master John won’t be coming to you!” Esther exclaimed.

In reality, she knew that Blaine was the owner of the place. At the end of the day, Silas was just his younger brother!

Silas would be insane if he stood up against Blaine for someone else’s sake.

Harvey said nothing as they argued. He crouched down to look at the broken pieces on the ground.

The exquisite statue was made purely out of porcelain. Aside from the wooden fish in the statue’s hands, everything else was basically dust.

Judging from the quality of the statue, it was clear it was an antique. Harvey looked at it for a few times, then set his eyes on the wooden fish.

“Enough with your nonsense!” Esther yelled.

“Since you can’t get anyone to help…”

“You’ll have to pay up.”

Esther’s eyes were filled with murderous intent, as if she had Simon under total control.

“Only you were standing around here. The statue fell as soon as you came.”

“Are you saying that a ghost did it?”

“Pay up already! Stop yapping!”

A group of beautiful workers came forward to ridicule Simon.

“Pay what you’re owed!”

“You broke the statue!’

Besides that, a few righteous people in the crowd stepped out to scream and curse at Simon.

Harvey watched them curiously, then looked at Esther. He could see a playful look in her eyes; this was just a game to her.

Simply put, she was already bored with playing such tricks.

“This is slander!” Simon yelled.

He still refused to give up.

“Call the cops, then! We’ll look at the surveillance footage!”

“If I did touch the statue…”

“I’ll take responsibility!”

“If there’s no proof, then don’t expect me to take the blame!”

Gabriel was drenched in a cold sweat, but spoke up as well.

“Yeah! At least show us some proof!”

“Proof?” Esther asked.

“We’re proof enough!”

“There are so many eyes on you right now!”

Esther shot back, smiling.

“I’m sorry, but we don’t have footage here.”

“That said, witnesses are enough for the police.”

She clapped her hands. Several actors stepped out of the crowd to testify.

Simon was boiling with anger, and gritted his teeth.

“You b*stard! This is insane…”

“I’ll get Silas to stand up for me, no matter what!”

“Enough talk,” Esther snarled.

“Even your father won’t do you any good here!”

Esther glared coldly at him.

“Either you show me the money, or you call the cops.”

“You choose.”

Gabriel was there too. The two were red in the face as they argued with a few staff.

A lot of people were in an uproar as well.

Soon after, a woman in a dress showed up.

She seemed to be the manager of the place; she had an exquisite face and a beautiful figure.

When she narrowed her eyes, one could see arrogance in her gaze.

Harvey could tell that Simon was in big trouble. The man wouldn’t act that way if that wasn’t the case.

He frowned for a moment before stepping forward.

He didn’t want to get involved, but Simon was still his father-in-law. It was only natural for him to ask about the situation.

“What’s going on, Dad?” Harvey asked quietly as he stepped forward.

Simon glanced at him and gritted his teeth, but said nothing.

Gabriel glared disdainfully at Harvey.

Thinking of what happened the day before, he didn’t dare insult Harvey. If Harvey got angry and asked for Azrael’s support, he’d be dead before he realized it!

Before Simon could explain the situation, the woman in a dress smiled calmly and spoke first.

“I’m the manager of the Empire Hall, Esther John.”

“You came at the perfect timing, sir. You should talk to your father about this.”

“He broke the statue here. It came from five different dynasties and ten different kingdoms.”

“Since he didn’t do it on purpose, we’re only asking him to compensate 1.5 million dollars.”

“But he’s still arguing with us, and completely ignored our kindness.”

“I’ll have to call the cops if this keeps up.”

Esther looked calmly at Harvey.

“I can guarantee that not only will you have to pay for the damages, but you’ll be put behind bars too.”

“The John family owns the place.”

“You should know exactly what that means!”

Esther’s tone was calm and steady, but she emanated a fierce aura. It showed that she could do whatever she wanted here.

It was clear she had dealt with situations like these for a long time. She would always get the upper hand as soon as she mentioned the John family.

“I’m telling you this one more time, I didn’t even get close to that statue! It fell on its own!” Simon exclaimed coldly.

“This has nothing to do with me! Don’t you dare put the blame on me!”

“Besides, Silas John is basically my son at this point!”

“He’ll make you lose your job if you keep slandering me like this!”

“Silas? Young Master John?”

Esther froze, then sized up Simon.

“Young Master John only befriends beautiful women! Why would he befriend an old bat like you in the first place?” she said, scoffing coldly.

“Come on, make the phone call! If he stands up for you, I’ll call this off immediately!”

“If not, you’ll have to pay us!”

Esther tapped on the ground with her high heels, impatient.

“Fine! Just you wait!”

To show off his relationship with Silas, Simon immediately pulled out his phone and put the speakers on.

“Hello? Something up, Uncle?”

Silas’s voice could be heard on the other side.

Harvey didn’t stay in the villa after his argument with Lilian and Mandy. He went back to the Fortune Hall immediately after.

He had already dealt with a lot of things early in the morning.

After his fight with Waylon, Fortune Hall had become very well-known.

Harvey didn’t even have the time to have a drink. He had no choice but to make Reece and Rodney take care of the place as part of their training.

If they did a good job, he promised to fix Waylon’s Book of Changes and teach them everything.

The two were a little unhappy at first, but they were ecstatic when they heard Harvey’s promise. They happily worked their butts off soon after.

Harvey was a lot less pressured, since two of his disciples were working as well. Even so, he only had time to rest in the afternoon.

Seeing that the hall was filled with customers, he decided to buy some things at the geomancy market.

The paper and cinnabar were all leftovers provided by Reece. If Harvey wanted to attract Evermore, he’d have to put up a strong front.

At three in the afternoon, Harvey went to the geomancy market beside the Rio River.

Despite the name, the market actually sold antiques alongside geomancy tools.

Since geomancy arts were connected to antiques, many of them would usually have a large effect on geomancy.

The geomancy market was quite well-known as well. The place was said to have been around since ancient times. By now, it had over six hundred years of history.

The entire place was shaped like a compass, surrounded by fixed stalls. Other stalls scattered around the empty spaces in the middle.

It was hard to tell if the items on display were authentic or not. There were a lot of fakes, but there were also real antiques hidden in the midst.

Whether people were to waste their money here or to actually get their money’s worth, it was a test for them.

After taking a few trips around the market, Harvey found out that ninety percent of the items here were fake.

There weren’t a lot of good things here.

Some of the cinnabar were even made with red dye. It was basically useless.

Harvey walked to the Empire Hall, the shop standing in the best spot of the entire market, hoping he’d be able to buy some authentic items.

Aside from the antique -looking door, the entire shop was filled with beautiful decorations and historical -looking wooden carvings.

There was a huge crowd there.

Some were looking at geomancy tools, and some were looking at the antiques. Some were researching the rough stones and precious gems scattered throughout the shop.

There were all sorts of sizes, imported from the South Sea.

Many people were betting on the stones excitedly; some would occasionally let out a joyful roar after cracking a hidden gem inside the rocks.

Safe to say, everything necessary could be found here.

“You tricked me! I never touched any of your things!”

After picking out some cinnabar and paper, Harvey was heading to the counter when he heard someone shouting at the antiques section.

Harvey instinctively looked over. He froze… he didn’t think that he’d see Simon here.

Lilian laughed when she heard that.

“You still believe that, Mandy?”

“What a joke!”

“If he’s actually Prince York, why would he need to give his services as a geomancy expert?”

“If that’s the case, why would he need to be Kairi’s kept man in the first place?”

“Why is Queenie York the current head of the Yorks of Hong Kong, and not him?”

“Do you really think I’d still believe all that now?”

“His so-called background, power, and connections…”

“Are just there because he’s a kept man!” “He’s just clinging to different women at this point!”

“Let’s just talk about Golden Sands!”

“Without Kairi, what can he even do?!”

“Saul, Kellan, and Azrael…”

“They’re only pampering him because he has the support of the hidden family!”

“When Kairi’s done with him…”

“Do you think he’d still get the chance to stand in front of us?”

Lilian threw a stack of documents on the coffee table.

“I asked Silas to look into this.”

“Kairi Patel, also known as the Poison Fairy!”

“The men who got close to her just to be a part of the upper social circle will always be swallowed whole in the end.”

“I don’t know what she’s trying to get from Harvey, but I know that he’ll pay for everything a hundredfold once he has no more value!”

Silas was probably fanning the flames with the documents he provided.

Lilian was looking down on Harvey completely.

After seeing the forged documents on the table, Harvey smiled calmly.

“See? I explained everything, but you didn’t believe me anyway.”

“I want you to tell us the truth! Not spout nonsense like that!” Mandy sighed, looking disappointed.

Lilian chuckled coldly.

“If you’re going to make up a story like that, at least make sense!”

“You said you made Grandma Bolton live longer? You’re saying that I was bailed out with compensation all because of you?”

“Are you that impressive? Do you think we’ll just believe you like that?”

“We know that I got out only because Silas asked for his brother’s help! This has nothing to do with you!”

“This alone is enough to prove that you’re lying!”

Lilian glared arrogantly, as if she had won the fight.

Mandy sighed again..

“I hoped that you’d tell the truth, Harvey. I didn’t want you to run your mouth, just because you want us to get remarried.”

“Think of an explanation before coming back again.”

Mandy stood up, then walked to her room.

Lilian glared disdainfully at Harvey.

“How dare you steal Silas’s credit! How shameless can you get?!”

“Leave!”

“Right now!”

“I don’t want to see you anymore!”

Harvey wasn’t angry.

“Well then, I hope the son-in-law you look up to won’t disappoint you in the future.”

Harvey stopped after hearing Mandy’s words.

She was clearly jealous, but she was still thinking about him. It would be inappropriate for him to just leave like that.

“Fine! I’ll get along with this b*stard!”

Lilian stepped forward, then looked at Harvey with a cold smile.

“I’ll do this for my daughter’s sake!”

Lilian couldn’t believe that Harvey was being pampered by everyone.

If it was Silas, she would’ve understood it instantly.

But that wasn’t the case at all.

Thinking about Kairi, Lilian laughed coldly.

‘What kind of luck does this b*stard have to get on Kairi Patel’s side?’

Harvey glanced at Mandy; he knew this was actually what she wanted to know.

He sighed.

“There’s nothing to explain.”

“Besides, you wouldn’t believe me if I did.”

Lilian burst out laughing.

“Say it! Say it already!”

“I’m listening!”

“Hopefully you’re not as useless as I think you are!”

Harvey knew just what kind of despicable thoughts Lilian had after hearing her words.

But when he sensed Mandy’s judgmental gaze, he took a step forward and looked at her.

“If you want an explanation, I’ll give you one right now.”

“Let’s not talk about something so far back.”

“This concerns Golden Sands only.”

“I’m good with geomancy, my martial arts are impressive, and I have some medical skills.”

“I saved Kairi while on the plane here.”

“I beat the crap out of Kellan.”

“I saved Wes twice.”

“Saul’s wife, Lola, couldn’t have a baby. I dealt with that, too.”

“Then, I saved Watson when he was on the brink of death.”

“Chana, too.”

“I made Grandma Bolton live for another dozen years.”

“Most of the top-rated families here owe me a favor.”

Harvey was emotionless as he told her everything.

“That’s why Watson gave me his car, why Wes gave me the Crimson Love, and why Darius gave me the Ostrane 1.”

“I can do whatever I want in the city, as long as people see my face.”

“Do you believe me now?”

Harvey told only the truth, but Lilian’s face was filled with nothing but disdain.

Mandy was shocked, then puzzled. She knew Harvey was capable, but not that capable.

“Mother asked you to explain the situation, not to spout nonsense.”

She sighed.

“Do you think people would believe you?”

“I would’ve believed you if you told me that you used your status as Prince York to make those people respect you, but…”

“I didn’t expect you to still run your mouth like this!”

At nine o’clock in the evening, Harvey returned to the Zimmer family’s villa.

He initially planned to head to Fortune Hall, but he felt like he should explain himself after seeing Mandy leave so suddenly.

“You’re home already?”

Mandy seemed to have been waiting for him in the living room for a long time.

The tea in front of her had already gone cold.

She hadn’t taken even a single sip.

“Mandy told us everything! If you want to be the Patel family’s live-in son-in-law, then get out of here!”

“We don’t welcome cheaters here!”

Harvey looked at Mandy, speechless. ‘How jealous can she get…?’

He could only sigh. “Can we talk about this, Mom?”

“Mom? Who are you calling your mom?”

“I’m definitely not blessed enough for that!”

Lilian was completely humiliated by what had happened before.

“You stopped us right outside the Golden Plaza, then got someone to slap Young Master John twice!”

“Do you still think you’re in the right after getting so many people against us?!”

“I didn’t know our family’s been taking care of such an ungrateful b*stard for the past three years!”

“If I wanted to go against you, I wouldn’t be inviting you to dinner in the first place,”

Harvey said.

“Invite us?” Lilian scowled, as if she realized something. “Thank goodness we didn’t agree to that.”

“You didn’t look like you were trying to invite us at all!” she screeched.

“You wanted us to join you, so you could take advantage and humiliate us!”

“I can’t believe I couldn’t tell that you were such a despicable person!”

“Leave! Right now!”

“We don’t need people like you in our family!”

Lilian threw her cup to the ground and kicked the front door open, then made a gesture for Harvey to leave.

Harvey’s head hurt. He knew Lilian would never speak reason in such a state.

Mandy was very jealous; he would only stray further away from her if the fight kept going on.

Realizing that, Harvey nodded.

“Fine. I’ll leave,” he said.

“Before I do, I should say again that I never did anything to go against the family.”

“If you really think that, then you must’ve asked for it yourself.”

Harvey turned around.

“You little b*stard…”

Lilian was boiling with anger; she wanted to strangle Harvey so badly.

“Did you forget what we talked about, Mother?”

At that moment, Mandy couldn’t help but speak up.

“You promised to get along with Harvey.”

Keeka turned her hand, revealing a silver dagger. Then, she aimed it right at Azrael’s throat.

Azrael narrowed his eyes, not moving an inch -as if he was scared witless.

But as soon as Keeka got closer, he finally threw a punch.

An explosive sound could be heard in the air; the power of his punch was terrifying.

Keeka’s expression changed; she pressed the tip of her dagger against Azrael’s fist, using the momentum to turn in Kairi’s direction.

A diversion!

Everyone was fooled!

Her target had been Kairi all along!

She did everything to misdirect everyone!

In Keeka’s eyes, Kairi’s defenses were the weakest.

The security guards had Azrael completely surrounded. Nobody could react quickly enough.

The security guards wanted to pull the trigger, but they could only use their bare fists since they were afraid of harming Kairi and the others.

Even then, everyone could tell that they were too slow.

Right as Keeka thought that she was about to pierce Kairi’s throat…

Harvey casually stepped forward, and slapped her in the face.

After taking the hit, Keeka could only see darkness. The power she was so proud of vanished instantly.

She stopped in mid-motion, before flying right into a pillar. Blood gushed out of her mouth right after she fell.

She slowly raised her head to look at Harvey, her eyes filled with nothing but resentment.

She didn’t think she’d lose against a single slap, especially after planning out everything so carefully.

When the security guards rushed forward, Keeka gritted her teeth. Her face darkened instantly, and she stopped breathing.

A security guard pried her mouth open, and realized that she had bitten a poison pill in her mouth. It was already too late.

Naturally, Keeka had no intention to get out of the place alive.

Harvey narrowed his eyes. Once again, he was impressed with Evermore’s ruthlessness.

Not only were they fierce toward their enemies, they also had no remorse toward themselves. After all, there weren’t a lot of people who’d toss away their lives with ease.

While the security guards were dragging the corpse away, Harvey smiled and clapped in front of Azrael.

“Let’s have this meal another time, Mr. Bolton.”

He wasn’t interested in getting himself involved, since he knew Azrael would handle the situation.

Azrael and Kairi looked at each other, then nodded. They planned to say something out of courtesy, but they were thankful that Harvey left so quickly.

Before Harvey did, Azrael gave him a badge made out of gold. It was only an inch long, and it had a realistic carving of a tiger’s head.

This was Azrael’s warrant.

Seeing it would mean seeing the man himself.

Simply put, with the badge in his hand, Harvey could do whatever he wanted in Golden Sands from then onward.

“No need to keep her alive,” Azrael said, as the security guards stepped up.

They froze, then took off the safety of their firearms before pulling the trigger.

The killer waved both of her hands, revealing two tubes. Right after that, she shot needles in every single direction.

Many security guards lay on the ground, paralyzed; none of them could move a single inch. Nobody expected the guards would be dealt with by a single killer.

“It’s her! It’s Keeka!”

“She belongs to Mr. Faceless!”

Kairi finally saw the killer’s true face.

Keeka was one of Mr. Faceless’s trusted experts. Her job was to deal with those who disobeyed Mr. Faceless. Back then, her body count was off the charts.

“She’s from Evermore?”

Harvey squinted at Keeka. It wasn’t his first time dealing with the organization, but he was still surprised at how strange and ruthless they were.

“Go together!” Kellan roared furiously.

His subordinates pulled out their firearms, ready to pull the trigger at any moment.

Keeka calmly glanced at Kairi, smiling, as if she was greeting Kairi. She then waved her hand, and more needles flew out.

Keeka was finally out of needles. She quickly reached out to the firearm on the ground.

Harvey’s head started to ache when he saw that. He finally knew why Mandy left.
