Harlem cracked the bead of his cigarette, and nodded calmly.

For Xynthia’s sake, Harvey stood up as well.

“Hello, I’m Harvey.”

“Harvey?”

Harlem glared at Harvey. When he spoke, it was in an accented voice.

“I remember now!” he said.

“You’re the live-in son-in-law Xynthia’s been talking about the entire time.

“You’re interesting. You’d rather be a kept man than make an honest living.

“If men from Country J try such a thing, we’ll be beaten up to death in an instant.”

Harlem didn’t hide his disdain toward Harvey.

“But for Xynthia’s sake, I’ll give you some respect,” he added calmly.

“If you get in trouble in Golden Sands, just say my name. You’ll be perfectly safe! I guarantee it!

“My reputation here is amazing, after all! No one would dare go against me, anyway!”

Everyone around him looked admiringly at him after hearing those words.

“You’re so cool, Mr. Lee!” Imani, Kenzie, and Dayna gushed in unison.

Harvey only smiled calmly.

“Thank you for that, Mr. Lee. That said, I don’t need your help here.

“I’ll definitely come for you when I’m in Country J, though.”

Harvey held Xynthia’s hand, and pulled her away.

He could tell that Harlem was interested in her, so he didn’t want to give Harlem a chance.

“You’re declining my help?

“You talk like you’re actually capable!”

Harlem was filled with rage when he saw Harvey holding the hand of a goddess many in the industry couldn’t.

He had been giving hints to Xynthia, but she never gave him a chance. She acted as if she was completely oblivious to his advances.

Xynthia would always read scripts or do rehearsals with others during the day, when most people would be around.

Thus, Harlem took the opportunity to get Xynthia this way. However, he didn’t expect her to bring another man with her. He wanted to strangle Harvey to death so badly.

“You b*stard! I can kill ten of people like you!” Harlem shouted.

“If it wasn’t for Xynthia, you wouldn’t have the right to talk to me!

“I gave you a chance, but you’re still putting on airs!

“Who do you think you are?!”

To prove his superiority, Harlem took this chance to insult Harvey.

If Harvey actually left, he’d finally get his hands on Xynthia.

Kenzie nodded casually, not even looking Harvey in the eye. She took a sip of her soda, ignoring him. Dayna, meanwhile, laughed coldly.

“Are you kidding me, Xynthia?” she said.

“You can’t just bring any random person to drink with us!”

“We’d welcome the man who supports you and owns Kaizen Group, but…”

“You can’t just get your live-in son-in-law here and embarrass all of us!”

Imani immediately pouted.

“That’s right! We want to meet the young master!”

“Or are you scared of us stealing him from you?”

Harvey pulled his hand back, smiling faintly.

He could tell that these celebrities had no intention to make friends with Xynthia. They were only using her to get acquainted with the powerful figures behind the scenes.

Since Harvey was just a live-in son-in-law to them, they naturally scorned him.

Xynthia didn’t mind any of that, though.

“Nonsense!”

“I’ve been so exhausted after reading so many books and scripts every single day.”

“I’ve been working hard in every single movie I’ve been in!”

Xynthia leaned into Harvey as she flaunted his strength, her arm around his shoulder.

She was telling the whole truth, but nobody would even believe her.

Feeling her warm hand on his shoulder, Harvey was suddenly filled with all sorts of imagination.

He quickly took a deep breath to calm himself down, trying to stop himself from imagining more things.

He wasn’t going to fall into the same trap twice.

“Thank goodness I called Mr. Lee here!”

“Without him, there probably wouldn’t be anyone paying the bills, let alone have someone fun to play with!”

Imani pouted, then looked at her vibrating phone.

She stood up excitedly, and waved at a few people from afar.

“I’m here, Mr. Lee!”

A tall and strong man with an exotic appearance strode in. He was Imani’s senior and an online celebrity from Country J, Harlem Lee.

Harlem was dressed in exquisite clothing brands from all over the world. He had a fashionable hairstyle, and gave off a soft and warm aura.

Several handsome and beautiful men and women followed behind him. At first glance, one could clearly see that they were quite successful people.

Their arrival in the bar grabbed a lot of attention.

Many women screamed in excitement when they recognized the celebrity.

“Mr. Lee…!”

Imani, Kenzie, and Dayna stood up, hurrying to get closer to the man. Even Xynthia stood up respectfully to greet him.

He was a senior in the industry, after all.

When Harvey and Xynthia were on the way home, it was the evening rush hour. The traffic jam was heavy.

After driving for two straight hours, the car almost ran out of gas. It stopped right in front of a bar.

The bar was named Champagne. It was very flashy, and could be seen outside.

“Come with me, Harvey! Old timers like you aren’t used to places like these,” Xynthia said, “but I’ll make sure to show you around.”

Having dozed off in the car for so long, Xynthia instantly opened her eyes the moment she heard the catchy music. She quickly hopped out of the car, and dragged Harvey into the bar.

Loud noises blasted right into Harvey’s ears as soon as he entered. The bass seemed to vibrate in his entire body, as if it was playing from inside him. It was a horrible feeling.

During this hour, the bar was completely packed. All sorts of people gathered here, so the bar was quite raunchy.

Compared to all of them, Xynthia seemed really out of place. Her innocent appeared had all the women completely outmatched.

Xynthia stood next to Harvey, acting as if he had never been to such a place before.

“Don’t look around!” she warned.

He had no clue how to explain himself.

After she was done threatening Harvey, Xynthia quickly gave the women warm hugs.

she gushed.

“Come! Let me introduce you. This handsome guy is my brother-in-law, Harvey York.”

“These are Imani, Kenzie, and Dayna. We all met at the idol training camp.”

“They’re all popular actresses from Golden Studios.”

“Usually, it’s not easy to see them.”

“It’s an honor to have a meal with them!”

Xynthia was finally done introducing everyone.

Harvey stared at the celebrities, who looked almost identical, and felt quite speechless.

He wanted to tell Saul not to spend money so willy-nilly.

“The director made me do a few more movies. He’s been putting me on shifts!”

“I only want to be featured in good movies, though. I can’t just take every single gig!”

“I heard that the Golden Sands Bank is about to collaborate with my company for a big blockbuster.”

“I’m going to try out for that instead!”

“If I get the role, I might just blow up immediately!”

Harvey froze.

“The Golden Sands Bank? You’re joking, right?”

Xynthia looked as if she was about to give Harvey a lecture.

“There’s something you don’t know, Harvey.”

“The Golden Sands Bank has a long history.

It’s been here since the Braided Dynasty.”

“While the country’s still being developed, the bank has been funding for military pay as well.”

“That’s why the bank is a historical place filled with positivity.”

“They’ll definitely blow up with a huge blockbuster film!”

“Besides, to ensure the quality of the film, they planned to hire new people in the industry instead of those saddled with scandals.

“That’s why I came back here.”

“You see, Harvey. Even without you getting me jobs, I can still get famous!”

Harvey looked as if he had realized something. He thought of a time to meet up with Saul.

“You must be getting pretty cocky to do this much research, huh?” he said.

Xynthia pouted.

“I’m just trying to survive on my own!”

“Want me to come with?” he asked, after pondering about the situation for a moment.

He was afraid of her getting taken advantage of.

Xynthia wanted to decline at first, but she’d feel a lot safer with Harvey.

“We’ll put this in your car. Let’s head there now,” she said. Then, she gave Harvey the address.

Xynthia was a little down to hear that.

“Fine. Another day, then.”

“Right. Aren’t you going downtown?”

“Do you want Harvey to bring you there?”

“No need. I have a car picking me up.”

Ensley would only travel around in Audis, BMWs, or Mercedes at least.

Judging from Harvey’s outfit, she assumed he was driving a shabby car.

Harvey didn’t like Ensley at all. He picked up Xynthia’s luggage, and walked to his Audi.

Xynthia rolled the window down, and waved at Ensley.

Ensley’s disdainful glare froze the instant she saw the license plate.

It was an Audi A8 with five sevens!

The only important thing to her was the people she cared about.

Seeing Xynthia’s innocent attitude, Ensley couldn’t help but smile.

At that very moment, Harvey walked over with a helpless look.

“You changed a flight just for me to fetch you? You’re insane!”

“Do this again, and I’ll give you a good spanking!”

“Harvey!”

Xynthia screamed in excitement after hearing Harvey’s caring yet scornful words.

She quickly ran over, and latched onto his arm like a hook.

“I missed you, Harvey!”

Your career will be in deep trouble!”

Harvey sighed, and pulled Xynthia off him.

For some reason, he felt a little down about it.

“What do you mean? They have nothing on us, anyway. At most, they’ll talk about us being an affectionate family,” Xynthia said.

She glanced at Harvey, a little annoyed.

When she saw Harvey getting a little angry, she quickly let go.

“I got it. You fought with my sister again, didn’t you? You’re scared there’s going to be a scandal that’ll make her angrier.”

Harvey scowled.

‘You know exactly who we are to each other, though…’

That said, Harvey didn’t want to rebuke Xynthia in public.

He looked at the beautiful woman beside Xynthia, confused.

Xynthia quickly came to her senses.

“Ah! I forgot to introduce you!”

“This is the female lead of the movie I’m in!

She’s a big celebrity who’s considered a rare beauty in the country, Ensley Johnson.”

“She’s also from Wolsing. Not only is she super talented, but she’s pretty rich too!”

Ensley glared at Harvey; seeing his ordinary clothes and his old Rolex, she couldn’t help but feel disdain.

Everyone in her circle wore Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin watches. If they wore anything else from Rolex that wasn’t a Rainbow Daytona, they would be looked down on.

Ensley instinctively looked at her watch before speaking up.

Of course, Harvey didn’t stop him. After all, it’d be refreshing for Castiel to see Darwin and the others suffer a little more.

Harvey threw the check to Cliff, so the latter could take care of the renovation materials and furniture. Just then, his phone started to chime.

He had received a text.

“The plane just started to take off, Harvey.

Remember to fetch me tonight!”

Harvey was speechless; he knew Xynthia hid herself at the airport because he wasn’t there to fetch her. She made herself a lame excuse, at that.

He could tell there was no change in the time of her flight just by checking it on his phone.

Even so, he was quite close to his sister-in- law. Xynthia was also working for the company under his name, so he couldn’t ignore her just because of what happened between him and the Zimmers.

Harvey sent her a reply. Then, he went to the airport’s waiting lounge. After ten minutes or so, a huge crowd swarmed out of the exit.

There were two especially eye-catching women standing in the crowd.

A beautiful woman dressed in a bat-wing blouse was standing on the left. In her high heels, she was about five-foot-seven. Her height made her stand out from the crowd.

On the right was a woman with a bright and plump face. She wasn’t wearing any makeup, but she still looked alluring. She was only wearing an ordinary T-shirt and jeans, but she was no less compared to the woman beside her-maybe even better.

She was none other than Xynthia.

The two women had completely different auras, but they were still undeniably attractive.

Every single man who walked out at the same time couldn’t help but take a few sneaky glances at them. Even some princes and young masters started to gauge themselves, to see whether they had the right to approach the two.

“Do we look okay, Ensley?” Xynthia said to the woman next to her, as she looked around.

When she saw the surrounding buildings, disdain filled her gaze.

“It’s a pretty big city. An ancient city built by an entire province would naturally have its strong suits.”

Ensley looked calm, but her words were filled with nothing but disgust.

“It’s a shame it was cast away by time…”

“It’s no better than a first-rate city like Wolsing, but it’s not that bad either.”

Xynthia, however, didn’t mind the place at all.

When the people were long gone, Cliff approached Harvey.

“Sir York, Darwin is one of Quill’s right- hand men. He has high status in both the Gibson family and the Golden Sands’ branch of Heaven’s Gate.”

“It wouldn’t be exaggerating to say that he’s served by thousands of other people.”

“You’ll be in deep trouble for doing this.”

Castiel nodded, looking horrible.

“The Gibson family is filled with arrogant people.”

“With Heaven’s Gate backing them, they can do whatever they please in the city.”

“They wouldn’t allow other forces to enter the city to lessen the chaos.”

“That said, they’re the source of all chaos within the city.”

“Aside from the Patel family, the John family, and the Hermit Families…”

“They have been collecting protection fees from every single major business and wealthy family in the city.”

“They’re completely lawless!”

“You’ll be in a lot of trouble if you go against them, Master.”

“It’s fine. Darwin wouldn’t dare go against me, anyway,” Harvey replied.

Cliff was curious. “Why’s that?”

Harvey chuckled.

“Everyone has something that they fear.”

“For example, Darwin’s pissed right now. He thinks he has suffered too much against me.

But after a while, his rage will dissipate. He’ll start enjoying his freedom…”

“After that, he’ll fear for his life…”

“After all, it wouldn’t be easy to let go of his newfound freedom.”

It was why Harvey wanted to give Darwin some hope before snuffing it out immediately after.

As expected, Darwin’s face went abnormally pale as soon as he heard Harvey’s words. The smile on his face froze instantly.

Shay and the others looked utterly horrible.

They were all on the verge of coughing up blood.

“If I was an ordinary geomancy expert, you would’ve already taken the Augustea. My limbs would’ve been broken, and my shop would’ve been torn down.”

“It’s clear that you arrogant people have no regard for the law!”

She gritted her teeth in anger; she swore to take her revenge on Harvey, no matter what.

However, she couldn’t even move a single inch, let alone fight back.

She was just a powerless woman.

The customers were shocked to see Darwin shivering non-stop.

They weren’t martial artists; they didn’t know that Darwin was already suffering as soon as Harvey poked him a few times.

“Guh!”

Under the crowd’s shocked gaze, a mouthful of blood gushed out of Darwin’s mouth. He was pissed.

Shay and the others froze, and then came to their senses. They were in utter disbelief.

They didn’t think that Darwin would actually be standing. It was as if everything changed after he coughed up all that blood.

He slowly moved his limbs, and channeled his energy. He quickly realized he was mostly recovered. He didn’t think this was even possible.

Castiel and Cliff were completely shocked.

They didn’t realize Harvey could do something so ungodly. The customers were looking at him in admiration as well.

‘Harvey managed to do something that even the medical experts couldn’t?’

“I’m fine! I’m fine now!” Darwin yelled happily. “I recovered! A few more months, and I’ll be an expert martial artist again!”

He burst out laughing, thinking that he could kill a bull with a single punch.
